May 19 is Going to Be a Super Busy Day for PS Plus Subscribers

This coming Tuesday, May 19 is going to be a particularly busy day for PlayStation Plus subscribers, as a wave of new games are coming to the Extra and Premium tiers of the service at the same time that some big titles are on their way out. The big PlayStation Plus update that comes in the middle of every month keeps subscribers on their toes, and those that want to get the most out of their subscription should definitely be keeping track of the games that are coming and going.

While May 19 will be especially busy, May 2026 has already proven to be a busy month for PS Plus subscribers. Earlier in the month, those signed up for the Essential tier of the service were treated to the free PS Plus games for May 2026, comprising EA Sports FC 26, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and Nine Sols. Extra and Premium tier subscribers also get access to the free PS Plus games that make up the Essential tier, plus they have their own exclusive games to look forward to on May 19.

PS Plus Extra Has 3 Clear Targets with May’s Monthly Games

PS Plus Extra is getting 6 new games on May 19, and the selection has a clear design in mind that absolutely knocks it out of the park too.

On May 19, the PS Plus Extra and Premium libraries will get their next big update. On that day, Bramble: The Mountain King, Broken Sword – Shadows of the Templar: Reforged, Enotria: The Last Song, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, Red Dead Redemption 2, Star Wars Outlaws, and The Thaumaturge will all be added to PS Plus Extra. PS Plus Premium will get all those games plus the classic PS1 on-rails shooter Time Crisis.

List of New PlayStation Plus Games Coming on May 19

  • Bramble: The Mountain King
  • Broken Sword – Shadows of the Templar: Reforged
  • Enotria: The Last Song
  • Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Star Wars Outlaws
  • The Thaumaturge

Fighting enemies in Time Crisis

The two big headliners when it comes to the PS Plus Extra games for May 2026 are Red Dead Redemption 2 and Star Wars Outlaws. Red Dead Redemption 2 is the critically-acclaimed open world western from Rockstar Games that some have hailed as the best video game of all time. Star Wars Outlaws is an open world sci-fi action-adventure game with stealth elements that received somewhat mixed reviews at the time of its release, but has since been more greatly appreciated thanks to meaningful post-launch updates.

List of PS Plus Games Leaving on May 19

  • Control: Ultimate Edition
  • Mortal Shell
  • Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition
  • MotoGP 25
  • Sand Land
  • Soul Hackers 2
  • The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan
  • The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope

The new games coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium on May 19 make it a big day for the service, but the games leaving make the update bittersweet. On May 19, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers will be losing access to Control: Ultimate Edition, Mortal Shell, Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition, MotoGP 25, Sand Land, Soul Hackers 2, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan, and The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope.

Out of those, the departure that will likely sting the most is Control: Ultimate Edition. Control earned rave reviews at the time of its release and remains one of Remedy Entertainment’s most beloved projects. It leaving PS Plus Extra is a bummer, but hopefully the new additions help ease the pain a bit.
