Every Game With Spider-Man Noir (Or His Incredibly Cool Suit)

Every Game With Spider-Man Noir (Or His Incredibly Cool Suit)

Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Noir is available to watch on MGM+ or Amazon Prime Video, depending on your location. Although Cage voices the character in the Into the Spider-Verse movies, the series stands alone and is not an extension of the flicks or the MCU. Strange as that might be nowadays, it also means the show can be largely enjoyed in complete isolation. However, if you want more Spider-Noir (or Spider-Man Noir) goodness, games have your back.

The hard-knots hero from Earth-90214 (in the comics) doesn’t feature directly in too many titles, but his aesthetic appears as a skin or a suit in plenty of Spider-Man games, hardly a surprise considering his eye-catching costume. Anybody craving to embody a version of Nicolas Cage should put up one of these releases, and options aren’t limited.

Games With Spider-Noir As A Playable Character

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions

The Quintessential Spider-Man Noir Game

Let’s get the most obvious one out of the way: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. Although not the only game with a playable Spider-Man Noir, this 2010 release contains by far his most substantial role, as he serves as co-protagonist. Split across four universes and Spider-Men, Shattered Dimensions dedicated three levels to each version, with all of them shifting somewhat the gameplay focus.

Best Spider-Man Animated Series, Ranked

There have been many attempts to make the best Spider-Man animated series, but which of them were Marvel’s most successful?

Spider-Noir adopts a stealth-first approach, with the hero using the shadows to keep himself out of sight and mind. Even more so than Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Noir seemed like the best candidate to utilize for a spin-off game, particularly one that would let players explore his 1930s New York in all of its hard-boiled glory. Unfortunately, that never came to pass, but Shattered Dimensions nevertheless ranks as the definitive Noir experience (and one of the best Spider-Man games).

Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2

Of Course, Lego Spider-Noir Exists

Here it is: the other big game with a playable Spider-Noir. Considering LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 packs in nearly every character under the sun, the old-school version of Peter Parker making an appearance shouldn’t really come as a surprise, and he is merely one of a plethora of Spider folk on the roster. Still, Traveller’s Tales gave Spider-Man Noir enough personality to come across as his own entity rather than just a palette-swapping version of standard Spider-Man.

Story-wise, Spider-Man Noir gets a bit of time in the spotlight during level 9, entitled “Noir Night-Mayor.” Although not a long section by any stretch of the imagination, the brief detour to the past comes with a nice sepia filter, a Kingpin fight, and a few new character unlocks, including Spider-Man Noir.

Marvel Snap

Well, Kind Of… Spider-Man Noir Has A Card

marvel snap studio comments on the game's future.

Does this count? Honestly, I’m not sure if this one counts.

Technically, Marvel Snap has a playable Spider-Man Noir, in the sense that you, the player, can utilize the character’s card as part of your deck. His card’s power states, “Set the top card of your deck’s Power to 8. If your other cards in play cost exactly 8 total, add it here,” which demands activating a pretty challenging requirement to get the most out of Spider-Man Noir. Admittedly, I fell off Marvel Snap a long time ago, so I cannot 100% speak to this card’s competitive viability. However, from what I can find alone, this card isn’t considered to be particularly useful.

Defunct Games With Spider-Noir Representation

Marvel: Avengers Alliance, Spider-Man Unlimited, and Marvel Super Hero Squad Online also had versions of Spider-Man Noir as a playable character. All three games are defunct nowadays, although the last two can still be played through workarounds or fan servers.

Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man stands as arguably the wall-crawler’s most complete experience ever, one that nails its story, world, combat, and (especially) traversal. The optional open-world content falls a bit flat, but the game delivers an incredible 25-hour campaign. Although it more than manages to find its own voice, Spider-Man doesn’t hesitate to reference the source material or Peter’s past successes, particularly in its 40+ costumes.

From retro PS1 exclusives to modern Spidey classics, these titles are the most flawless adaptations of the web-swinging hero.

The Noir Suit can be unlocked after completing mission 5, making it fairly accessible. Although inspired by the original look in the Spider-Man Noir comics, the aesthetic is primarily derivative of Shattered Dimensions‘ take on the character, an understandable decision since most players will probably be more familiar with that version.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

The Into The Spider-Verse Noir Suit

With two playable characters, multiple forms, and an even wider world, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2‘s mantra seemed to be that “more is more.” Naturally, that extended to the unlockable costumes, with the base game having over 65 (and 90 with the DLC included). Coming out a couple of years after Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Insomniac’s sequel opted to go for that movie version of the suit rather than one from the comics or older games.

Complete with a trench coat and fedora, the suit even adds an animation filter that mimics the character’s choppy movement from the film, making it one of the most visually interesting costumes in Spider-Man 2. Sadly, this costume doesn’t automatically change Peter’s voice to Nicolas Cage’s.

Fortnite

The Spider-Gang Is In Fortnite… Naturally

Fortnite Spider-Man Noir skin

If somebody wants to become the Cage, they need to turn to Dead by Daylight, which features the actor as one of the survivors. Surprisingly, Fortnite doesn’t have a Nicolas Cage skin, instead opting to stick to skins of his characters.

Included as part of the Across the Spider-Verse‘s Spider-Gang Bundle, Spider-Man Noir debuted in December 2024, with his final run in the store ending on February 28, 2025. Since then, he hasn’t returned to the rotation, although I imagine that will change once we finally get the third entry in Sony’s animated series. Aesthetically, the skin looks fantastic, perfectly mimicking the character’s profile from the movies.
