Amid ongoing sales as part of PlayStation‘s Days of Play event, PS4 and PS5 users can also download additional free avatars for a limited time. It’s not much, but it’s free, and PlayStation fans will have only a limited time to claim these freebies.
Both PS4 and PS5 users should be aware that these PlayStation freebies are only available through June 10, expiring sometime on June 11, at which time they will disappear completely. As such, any PlayStation fans—more specifically, fans of Baby Steps, Cairn, or Lumines Arise—should be sure to act quickly. There’s a week or so to claim them, as of this writing, but that time can fly by easily enough, especially with Summer Game Fest and the Xbox Games Showcase on the horizon.

What’s nice to see about this Days of Play event, especially these Avatars, is how PlayStation is celebrating the past with them, but also the future with State of Play. Each of these PlayStation games is super solid, to say the least.
Baby Steps has a generally favorable Metascore of 77 (which is to be expected of a ragebait-focused walking simulator), Cairn has a generally favorable Metascore of 86 (which is more than many would suspect from a climbing simulator), and Lumines Arise holds a rock-solid 87, too. These games aren’t old, by no means, but many gamers are likely moving on and looking forward to what’s next. Ergo, this Days of Play giveaway celebrates the past. Days of Play sales no doubt go a long way in selling current games and hardware, to boot.
The recent State of Play was a peek at the future of PlayStation games. There, PlayStation highlighted Marvel’s Wolverine as its major tentpole release of the year, while also showing off the upcoming release of God of War Laufey, a new entry in the franchise where players take on the role of Faye, Kratos’ dead wife. Alongside those, viewers also got a new look at Phantom Blade Zero, confirmation of Runescape: Dragonwilds coming to PS5 AND PS Plus, new looks at Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Control Resonant, and much, much more.
