Epic Games Dev Makes Open-World Survival Game 100% Free to Keep

An open-world indie survival game called KeepUp Survival is currently free to keep on the Epic Games Store, but gamers will need to act fast because the offer ends on July 19. While the Epic Games Store follows its own schedule for weekly free games on PC and mobile, the giveaway for KeepUp Survival comes directly from developer Witte Studio.

The Epic Games Store’s current official weekly free games are Nova Lands and Tattoo Tycoon. Users have until July 16 to claim both titles. Once those giveaways end, they will be replaced by two new freebies: Echo Generation: Midnight Edition and Luto. In the meantime, PC users can also grab a surprise giveaway, this time an intriguing open-world survival game.

All The Free Games You Can Claim In July 2026

Don’t miss a single July 2026 free game given away on Steam, Amazon Prime Gaming, Epic Games Store, Game Pass, and PS Plus.

KeepUp Survival Is Free on the Epic Games Store Right Now

According to developer Witte Studio, Epic Games Store users who claim KeepUp Survival before July 19 at 5:01 PM will be able to keep it permanently. As for the gameplay, KeepUp Survival is described as a survival experience set on a strange island. Its premise might remind players of open-world survival games like Sons of the Forest. That said, it features no monsters or zombies. Here’s how Witte Studio explains the plot: “A global pandemic has shaken humanity. On this remote island once stood a secret research facility that was meant to develop a cure, but something went terribly wrong.” It is also worth noting that KeepUp Survival normally costs $14.99 on both the Epic Games Store and Steam.

KeepUp Survival Gameplay Features

  • Base-building mechanics
  • Crafting mechanics
  • Co-op game mode (P2P)
  • Optional PvP
  • Unrestricted exploration
  • Non-linear progression
  • Survival stats (hunger, thirst, etc.)
  • Wild animals
  • Dynamic weather

KeepUp Survival was released on May 5, 2024, on the two major PC storefronts, Steam and the Epic Games Store. On Valve’s platform, the game has accumulated over 700 reviews, with only 64% of them being positive. In other words, its average user review score on Steam is rated as Mixed at the time of writing. However, since it has now joined the roster of free open-world games on PC for a limited time, fans are encouraged to check it out and decide for themselves whether it is worth their time.

The Epic Games Store Has Another Surprise Freebie for July

Fans interested in surprise giveaways like KeepUp Survival might want to know that another indie game is currently free on the Epic Games Store and is not part of the weekly rotations. PC users can currently claim NoRush! – Tower Edition on the Epic Games Store, a 3D platformer with a simple gameplay premise: get past all the obstacles and reach the top of the tower. NoRush! – Tower Edition will be available to claim for slightly longer than KeepUp Survival, as its promotion ends on July 20.

There are also a couple of upcoming free-to-keep promotions on Steam that freebie enthusiasts might want to keep an eye on. According to the latest data, at least two games, The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante and Yet Another Zombie Defense HD, are scheduled to receive a time-limited 100% discount. It is also believed that Moonlighter, a popular indie title, will become free-to-keep on Steam in August.
