Diablo: The Infernal Path Officially Announced for 30th Anniversary

A new chapter in the Diablo story has been officially revealed. For nearly 30 years, Diablo has built its identity around one thing: using fantastic RPG classes to acquire loot to beat back the forces of darkness. From the catacombs beneath Tristram to the depths of Hell itself, Blizzard’s legendary action RPG has introduced players to some of gaming’s most recognizable demons while turning Sanctuary into one of the medium’s most iconic fantasy worlds. Even today, names like The Butcher, Baal, Mephisto, and Lilith via Diablo 4 are instantly recognizable.

As Diablo celebrates its 30th anniversary, Blizzard is giving fans a new way to experience Sanctuary. One of the franchise’s darkest settings is making a return, complete with Diablo’s terrifying monstrosities and atmosphere reinvented in a unique way for the first time.

Diablo 4 Switch 2 Version Leaked, But There’s a Big Catch

An industry insider states that Diablo 4 is coming to Switch 2, but buyers will have a major caveat to consider in advance.

Diablo: The Infernal Path Releases in Fall 2026

Beginning this fall, Diablo: The Infernal Path will debut as an all-new haunted maze at two key Six Flags attractions, Cedar Point’s HalloWeekends and Kings Dominion’s Halloween Haunt. The attraction marks the first official Diablo haunted house and maze, placing guests inside Sanctuary after a ritual tears open the barrier between worlds. As they make their way through the maze, visitors will encounter familiar Diablo game enemies including The Butcher, Duriel, Baal, Mephisto, Lilith, and Diablo himself (plus more horrors).

According to Blizzard and Six Flags, the experience has been built exclusively for Cedar Point and Kings Dominion, recreating Sanctuary through corrupted landscapes, demonic environments, and close-quarters encounters inspired by the games. Blizzard says the attraction is designed to let fans experience Diablo in a way that has never been possible before, while Six Flags describes it as blending the Diablo series’ dark mythology with the scares guests expect from HalloWeekends and Halloween Haunt.

The haunted maze will be included with each park’s Haunted Attractions Pass when it opens later this Halloween season. While the attraction is exclusive to Cedar Point in Ohio and Kings Dominion in Virginia, it represents one of Blizzard’s biggest real-world Diablo collaborations to date (and easily one of the franchise’s most unexpected anniversary celebrations). Thematically, it’s appropriate, and it’ll be a nice celebration to go alongside news coming out of BlizzCon 2026 around this time too.

Diablo has crossed over with plenty of games over the years, but bringing Sanctuary to a full-scale haunted attraction was perhaps on no one’s wish list. Still, Six Flags goers will no doubt enjoy it if they love the Diablo games.
