The Mines of Moria remain one of the most memorable locations in The Lord of the Rings, and now a special new $3,000 release takes fans right back. The ancient dwarven kingdom of Moria is filled with abandoned halls, crumbling stonework, and the remnants of a civilization that once thrived beneath the mountains. Unfortunately for the Fellowship, Moria’s greatest dangers aren’t limited to its dark corridors, as Orcs and far more imposing creatures await within its ruins.
The Cave Troll’s sheer size makes it especially dangerous, forcing the Fellowship to work together as the battle unfolds. It’s the kind of scene that has helped keep the original Lord of the Rings trilogy popular with collectors, particularly those looking to bring its most recognizable creatures and battles into their own Lord of the Rings displays.
Add the Cave Troll of Moria to Your Lord of the Rings Collection
Now, Prime 1 Studio is bringing the Cave Troll of Moria to collectors with a massive new quarter-scale release available through Sideshow. Priced at $3,000+, the collectible recreates the titular creature from The Fellowship of the Ring with an imposing presence designed to capture the scale of the original film design. The bonus version also includes an additional helmeted head for an armored Orc, giving collectors another detail from the battle to display.

The Cave Troll of Moria measures approximately 35.8 inches tall, 36.6 inches wide, and 43.4 inches deep, with a listed weight of around 154.5 pounds. Its elaborate base features shattered stonework, rubble, attacking Orcs, and Balin’s fallen body, recreating the chaos of the Fellowship’s fight inside the mines. The size alone makes this a substantial display piece, so collectors will want to consider the space required before placing an order. Sideshow currently estimates shipping between January and June 2027, although pre-order schedules can change.
The Cave Troll is just one example of how The Lord of the Rings continues to inspire high-end collectibles based on the franchise’s most recognizable characters and imagery. Sideshow also carries the Sauron Unleashed Lord of the Rings collectible from Iron Studios, bringing the armored presence of the Dark Lord into its own collectible.
Collectors looking for something centered on the Fellowship’s more heroic figures can also look out for Sideshow’s Lord of the Rings Legolas sixth-scale figure. While the Cave Troll of Moria is a considerably larger commitment in both price and display space, all three releases offer different ways to celebrate the films’ enduring appeal.
