The Extra tier of PlayStation Plus is about to be hit hard, as the service is losing some of its biggest games on Tuesday, November 17. While there are new games added to the Extra tier of PlayStation Plus every single month, the unfortunate reality of a rotating library is that some games are also removed every month. Some months the new additions more than make up for the removals, but there are definitely times when the games leaving PS Plus outweigh the games being added. It’s all subjective, but it’s hard to see how the November 2026 new additions can possibly make up for the departures.
At the time of this writing, Sony has yet to announce the new games coming to PS Plus Extra in November 2026. Chances are that the full lineup will be announced on Wednesday, November 11, so a reveal should be happening sooner rather than later. But while we don’t know the new games coming to PS Plus Extra (and Premium) for November 2026, we do know the games that are getting the boot, and they include two of the most beloved games of all time, unfortunately.
GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 Are Leaving PS Plus
Tuesday, November 17 will be the day that PS Plus Extra subscribers have to say goodbye to both Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. GTA 5 and RDR2 are two games that likely need no introduction, with the critically-acclaimed, open world masterpieces standing tall as two of the best-selling and highest-rated video games of all time. Having behemoths like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS Plus has added significant value to the subscription service, and their departures will be devastating for PS Plus Extra’s value. It also just so happens that the games are leaving a couple of days before the release of Grand Theft Auto 6, which may make their removals sting a little more.
Rockstar Games titles have popped up on PS Plus in various capacities over the years, so there’s always a chance that RDR2 and GTA 5 will return one day. However, no timetable for their return has been announced, and it’s also not guaranteed. If you are a PlayStation gamer that wants to retain access to GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, you will need to purchase the games outright. It’s entirely possible that the games will never come back to PlayStation Plus, after all, though that seems unlikely.
GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 are definitely the biggest games leaving PS Plus Extra on November 17, but they aren’t the only ones. It’s also been confirmed that Cricket 24, Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair, Football Manager 26 Console, Hotshot Racing, Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom, Rapala Fishing: Pro Series, Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break, Thank Goodness You’re Here, The Talos Principle 2, and Yet Another Zombie Defense are also on the way out. There are some real gems there, with Thank Goodness You’re Here absolutely hilarious and Talos Principle 2 one of the most well-regarded puzzle games of the last 10 years, and so subscribers may want to at least try these titles before they’re gone.
Hopefully the new PS Plus Extra games coming in November 2026 help ease the blow a bit when it comes to the slew of departures happening on November 17. In the meantime, PS Plus subscribers can claim the free monthly games for November 2026, which include Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered, Dead Island 2, and Monster Train 2.
