Pokemon GO’s Biggest Event Ever is This Weekend

Pokemon GO is kicking off its biggest event ever with All Out, a special anniversary celebration that will feature most of the pocket monsters who have ever appeared in the mobile game. The popular mobile game continues to forge ahead as it celebrates its 10th anniversary and doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon. 2026 continues to be packed with content and events for Pokemon GO players and this weekend is a very special moment for the game.

It’s a great time to be a fan of the Pokemon franchise, as 2026 is a massive year as it celebrates its 30th anniversary. The Pokemon Company recently held a special livestream event to celebrate and making all sorts of announcements for the various games that are currently available to play. For many longtime fans, the biggest announcement was the reveal of Pokemon Winds and Waves, the next mainline title. Surprisingly, the game won’t be making the franchise’s 30th anniversary, confirming a general 2027 launch window instead. Even without a big new Pokemon game to look forward to later this year, The Pokemon Company still has tons planned for 2026, including a massive new event for Pokemon GO.

Interview: Pokemon GO VP Talks 10th Anniversary Plans, Super Mega Raids, and the Game’s Next Decade

GameRant interviews Pokemon GO VP of Product Michael Steranka about Super Mega Raids, the 10th anniversary, and Niantic’s long-term plans.

Pokemon GO All Out Start Date and Time

  • Saturday, March 7 at 10:00 AM to Monday March 9 at 8:00 PM

Starting on Saturday, Pokemon GO is kicking off its All Out event to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary. With such a big milestone for the franchise, Pokemon GO is making sure this event will deliver, making it the biggest one the game has seen to date. Specifically, wild encounters will include almost all Pokemon that have ever appeared in Pokemon GO. While that’s a staggering number of creatures to pull from, Niantic is giving plans a way to slightly improve odds for finding a specific Pokemon, with spawns in specific biomes that match their natural habitat and PokeDex entry.

Pokemon spawns aren’t the only big piece of the All Out event. Event bonuses include a chance to encounter a legendary Pokemon when an incense is used, wild Pokemon spawn more frequently, and 2KM eggs will be refreshed with the following Pokemon:

  • Pichu
  • Cleffa
  • Igglybuff
  • Togepi
  • Tyrogue
  • Smoochum
  • Elekid
  • Magby
  • Azurill
  • Wynaut
  • Budew
  • Chingling
  • Bonsly
  • Mime Jr. – will only hatch in certain parts of the world.
  • Happiny
  • Munchlax
  • Riolu
  • Mantyke
  • Toxel

In terms of Pokemon GO raids, players will notice that all sorts of costumed Pikachu that have appeared over the years will be spawning in during one-star events. For those looking for a greater challenge, five-star raids will include a variety of legendary Pokemon to fight against, though keep in mind that some Pokemon GO encounters remain region locked. For example, Stakataka can only be encountered by players in the Eastern Hemisphere of Earth, while Western Hemisphere players will instead encounter Blacephalon.

Prior to the start of All Out, fans have been enjoying Pokemon GO‘s 30th Anniversary special event, which kicked off on March 3 and is set to conclude on March 9 as well. In addition to a free GO Pass as well as milestone bonuses within it, the big draw for many is that Mewtwo encounters are finally back in Pokemon GO for a limited time. The fan favorite psychic Pokemon is part of possible encounters that could appear, along with other creatures originally discovered in the Kanto Region. GO Pass Deluxe owners are getting a little more during this event, with Mewtwo XL candy as well as even more Kanto encounters, including the legendary bird trio, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. Naturally, these Pokemon could even spawn in as a shiny version if players are lucky.
