Day One Xbox Game Pass Game Officially Confirmed for April 21

Vampire Crawlers, the fast-paced roguelite deck-builder spinoff of the 2022 indie hit Vampire Survivors, will officially be heading to Xbox Game Pass on April 21, 2026. As well as being available on Xbox Series X/S and PC via Xbox Game Pass, Vampire Crawlers will be releasing on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 on the same day, where it’ll retail for $9.99. Android and iOS versions of Vampire Crawlers are planned for release later in the year.

Hitting PC in February 2022 following a brief stint in early access, Vampire Survivors became one of the most popular indie releases of that year. Within just one month of its full launch, Vampire Survivors had sold nearly two million copies, and though updated statistics aren’t widely available, it’s believed to have made at least $20 million in revenue in the four years since its release. Along with presumably being an extreme commercial success, Vampire Survivors was a big hit with critics, with it earning a Top Critic Average of 88 on OpenCritic, with 98% of critics recommending the roguelite.

Vampire Crawlers Hits Xbox Game Pass on April 21, 2026

Officially announced in November 2025, Vampire Crawlers is being co-developed by Poncle and Nosebleed Interactive, the same studio behind Arcade Paradise. Where Vampire Survivors was a top-down roguelite game that “lets you be the bullet hell,” Vampire Crawlers is set to be a first-person turn-based deck-builder, albeit one that features many of the same roguelite mechanics. Vampire Crawlers will also feature a very similar pixelated art style and many of the same weapon types, characters, and enemies that are present in its top-down predecessor.

One element that’s wholly unique to Vampire Crawlers, however, is its combo system, which will see players activate cards in ascending mana order, multiplying the effects of the next card in the chain. While Vampire Survivors was far from the first of its kind, it was a clear pioneer of the modern anti-bullet hell genre, and in the four years since its launch, the gaming industry has seen a plethora of games clearly inspired by it. From Brotato to Megabonk, Vampire Survivors has clearly had a strong influence in the world of gaming. While that legacy is sure to expand with the imminent release of Vampire Crawlers, developer Poncle has even more irons in the fire. Along with releasing new indie games under the publishing banner of Poncle Presents, the UK-based developer is also partnering with Auroch Digital and Warhammer to create the officially-licensed Warhammer Survivors, a spinoff set in both the Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar universes.

Though it’s undoubtedly one of the most exciting day one Xbox Game Pass releases this April, Vampire Crawlers is just one of six titles headed to the subscription service next month. The list of games currently confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in April 2026 is as follows:

Of these six titles, a total of four are Xbox Game Pass day one additions. On top of Vampire Crawlers, there’s Replaced, the long-awaited cyberpunk side-scroller, Kiln, Double Fine’s pottery-themed multiplayer brawler, and Aphelion, a new Sci-Fi action-adventure game from Life is Strange creator Don’t Nod.
