The Sims teased an upcoming collaboration with popular YouTube channel Lofi Girl. For over two decades, The Sims has captivated its fans with its customization suite for creating Sims and building homes, and its many interesting storylines. What also stood the test of time was the franchise’s extensive music library.
Since the first game, the lively, feel-good music of The Sims has taken over many fans’ consoles. From the loading screen to the Simlish covers of real songs playing on the stereo, music has played a significant role in building The Sims‘ atmosphere. For The Sims 4, the developers wanted to add songs that inspired creativity and made playing the game more fun. The franchise has also taken it up a notch and collaborated with many musicians, like Katy Perry and Anitta, to make Simlish versions of their popular songs.

- The Sims x Lofi Girl collab release date: March 23, 2026 (Monday), uploaded either on The Sims‘ or Lofi Girl’s YouTube channel
The Sims is about to take another step in promoting its music as it teased a collaboration with Lofi Girl. The video ends with “03.23.2026” flashing on the screen, confirming the release date of the collaboration. Lofi Girl has previously collaborated with video games like Zenless Zone Zero and Silent Hill f, where their songs were reimagined into chill, relaxing music. Lofi Girl is known for doing a 24/7 stream of music for people who are studying and working, which thousands of people worldwide tune in to when they need to lock in. Despite being one of the longest-running streams on YouTube, Lofi Girl was temporarily shut down in 2022 due to false copyright strikes. The channel has since come out with multiple livestreams for different genres, ranging from synthwave for gamers to jazz music.
The reactions to The Sims and Lofi Girl’s collaboration have been mixed. Over at Lofi Girl’s YouTube channel, many subscribers and avid listeners posted their congratulations on the announcement video’s comment section, with some saying that the collab made sense. Meanwhile, The Sims‘ Twitter announcement was hounded by many The Sims 4 players who don’t seem happy about the current state of the game, with some noting that they couldn’t log on properly. Recently, Maxis rolled out a hotfix update to fix a Sims 4 issue, but players have reported that it caused a black screen to show up and messed up the game’s interface.
Interestingly, there were also The Sims fans asking about the franchise’s upcoming games, which could either be Project Rene or the rumored The Sims 5. Back in January, Maxis confirmed that Project Rene would be a mobile game, allowing players to check on their Sims on the go and also interact with their friends through its multiplayer function. As for The Sims 5, Maxis also teased it, but there are still no official details about its features and release date. The Sims 4 was released over a decade ago already, but it still receives regular expansion packs and updates to keep the gameplay fresh and exciting for avid players. However, some people are also starting to get fatigued by The Sims 4‘s content, which is why they’re constantly looking for the next new thing in the life simulation genre.
