ARC Raiders Reveals Patch Notes for 1.28.0 Update

On May 12, developer Embark Studios released another patch for ARC Raiders that includes a fix for the missing Skill Points issue. On May 11, reports emerged that many ARC Raiders players had not received the promised Skill Points after taking part in the Expedition event. Embark Studios quickly acknowledged the problem, and it now appears to have been resolved.

Typically, when an Expedition in ARC Raiders ends, players who have “departed,” which is the in-game term for resetting an account, can receive up to five Skill Points. These points are used to improve a player’s permanent stats across various areas of the game, including stamina and combat. Recently, ARC Raiders changed how departure Skill Points are acquired, tying them to the total damage players deal to ARC enemies. While the adjustment was generally viewed as positive, it sparked some controversy, prompting the developer to extend the third Expedition’s duration. Shortly after, the game encountered another issue, this time involving missing rewards.

According to the latest patch notes from developer Embark Studios, the issue that caused some ARC Raiders players to miss out on Skill Points has now been resolved with update 1.28.0. However, the investigation is still ongoing, with the developer working to identify all affected accounts so it can manually deliver the missing points in the coming days. Since the game’s release, Embark Studios has handled similar situations, including refunding items taken from players by cheaters or lost due to server-side issues.

Other than addressing another ARC Raiders glitch, patch 1.28.0 does not significantly alter the game’s current state. By comparison, the previous update, 1.27.0, introduced multiple gameplay adjustments and bug fixes, including a fix for the Trigger ‘Nade glitch that allowed players to activate them instantly. That said, the latest update does introduce one new addition after all: The Castaway outfit set. Players who want to obtain the new look will need to restart the game or manually download the patch.

Developer Embark Studios appears poised to address game-breaking issues more quickly than before, as reflected in the pace of its updates. Since April 30, the game has received three patches and hotfixes. The developer has also promised stricter action against ARC Raiders cheaters, which is said to be one of the game’s biggest current drawbacks.
