According to a new video from Nate the Hate, Nintendo’s plans for the Switch 2 this year include a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and a brand-new Star Fox game. At the time of this writing, Nintendo has kept its 2026 Switch 2 plans largely a secret. In fact, the only upcoming first-party Nintendo game with a solid release date is Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, which is set to launch for the new console at the end of May.
After Yoshi and the Mysterious Book launches on May 21, Nintendo fans have no idea when to expect the next big game from the company. However, it’s highly likely that Nintendo will host a Nintendo Direct in June like it does almost every year, and that is where it will lay out its release plans for the rest of 2026. The June Nintendo Directs, which used to coincide with E3, are almost always the biggest and most exciting, and it seems some potential announcements from the event have leaked online.

Huge New Nintendo Switch 2 Games Leaked
- 3D Super Mario Game – 2027
- Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave – Summer 2026
- New Nintendo Switch Sports Game – Summer 2026
- Pikmin 4: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition – Possible Summer 2026
- Rhythm Heaven Groove – Summer 2026
- Splatoon Raiders – Summer 2026
- Star Fox – Summer 2026
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake – Holiday 2026
Nate the Hate has potentially leaked some big Switch 2 announcements ahead of time. If their information is correct, this summer will be jam-packed for Nintendo fans. Fans should take Nate the Hate’s claims with a grain of salt, but it seems as though Splatoon Raiders, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, and a brand-new Star Fox game are all releasing this summer. A new Nintendo Switch Sports game is also supposedly coming this summer, but with the caveat that it might be a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade to the existing game as opposed to a completely brand-new release. Rhythm Heaven Groove is also believed to be a Summer 2026 game, but it’s technically a Switch 1 game. Finally, it was said that a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Pikmin 4 could possibly drop in the summer, but may be later in the year instead.

Nintendo tends to stick to a cadence of one big release per month, more or less, so we can assume that Splatoon Raiders, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, and Star Fox will be spread out from June through the end of September, with the other summer games filling the gaps between them.
As far as Nintendo’s big holiday game for the Switch 2 this year, Nate the Hate believes that it will be a full-blown remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Nintendo previously made an Ocarina of Time remake for the Nintendo 3DS, but this new version is apparently not just an HD remaster of that game, but rather a proper remake.
Zelda fans may be excited about the news that Ocarina of Time is supposedly getting another remake, but Super Mario fans may be disappointed to learn that the game is apparently coming this holiday instead of a 3D Super Mario. If the leaks are accurate, the highly-anticipated 3D Super Mario game for the Switch 2 isn’t coming until 2027.
Nintendo Switch 2 owners should take all of these claims with a grain of salt. We will have a much better idea if these leaks are accurate if Nintendo has a Direct presentation in June as expected. However, they’re all pretty easy to believe. Ocarina of Time is the highest-rated game ever made and 2026 marks the 40th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda franchise, so it makes sense for Nintendo to capitalize on the situation with a Switch 2 remake of the game. And while some may doubt Star Fox making a comeback in 2026 considering how Nintendo has neglected the franchise over the years, it was recently announced that The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will feature Fox McCloud. This will no doubt boost interest in Star Fox as a whole, and so Nintendo can strike while the iron is hot with its new Star Fox game. In any case, if the leaks are real, this summer is going to be ridiculously stacked for the Switch 2.
