Nintendo Switch 2 Has 4 Big Games Releasing in April 2026

Nintendo Switch 2 gamers have had a busy 2026 so far, with first-party exclusives like Mario Tennis Fever and Pokemon Pokopia readily available alongside blockbuster third-party, multiplatform games like Resident Evil Requiem. The Nintendo Switch 2 is significantly more powerful than its predecessor, which has ensured that Nintendo’s latest home console/handheld hybrid isn’t missing out on too many of the big third-party games releasing for its competitors.

It’s a good thing that the Switch 2 has strong third-party support because if it didn’t, April 2026 would be pretty bare for the console. Nintendo has no big Switch 2 exclusive releasing in April itself, instead opting to release games like the free-to-play Pokemon Champions and the life sim Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream as Switch 1 games. Both games will be playable on Switch 2 through backward compatibility, but neither are getting native Switch 2 releases. Or at least, nothing to that effect has been announced at the time of this writing.

Rumor: Critically Acclaimed Capcom Game Leaked for Nintendo Switch 2

Capcom’s strong support for Nintendo Switch 2 continues, as the publisher is rumored to be bringing another classic game to the system.

Even though there aren’t quite as many new Switch 2 games releasing in April 2026 as there were in March, there are still some exciting heavy hitters for fans to look forward to next month. Things get started right away with Darwin’s Paradox launching on April 2, followed by Mouse: P.I. for Hire on April 16, Pragmata on April 17, and Amnesia: Rebirth on April 30.

Upcoming Switch 2 Games for April 2026

  • Darwin’s Paradox – April 2
  • Mouse: P.I. for Hire – April 16
  • Pragmata – April 17
  • Amnesia: Rebirth – April 30

Darwin’s Paradox is a side-scrolling platformer from Konami where players take on the role of an octopus. Konami has largely focused on its established IP in recent years, and so the fact that Darwin’s Paradox is a brand-new IP from the company makes it even more interesting than it would be otherwise. Mouse: P.I. for Hire, meanwhile, is a first-person shooter game that uses a rubberhose art style inspired by classic cartoons while delivering classic FPS gameplay. It’s been on my radar for quite a while and was originally scheduled to launch last month, but was delayed at the last second.

Pragmata is perhaps the highest-profile new game releasing for the Nintendo Switch 2 in April 2026. Developed by Capcom, which just delivered Resident Evil Requiem on the Switch 2 to rave reviews, Pragmata is a sci-fi action-adventure game with unique combat. While controlling Hugh, players are free to use a variety of weapons and a trusty jetpack, and while controlling Diana, players can solve hacking puzzles to make robot enemies vulnerable to Hugh’s attacks. It seems like a risky new venture for Capcom, but it’s exciting to see a major publisher willing to roll the dice on something like Pragmata.

And finally, there’s Amnesia: Rebirth. Released years ago on other platforms, Amnesia: Rebirth is a genuinely terrifying survival-horror game where players explore a dangerous desert, solving puzzles and avoiding deadly monsters. An excellent entry in the Amnesia series, Rebirth should prove to be one of the scariest Switch 2 games when it launches on April 30.

Looking beyond April, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is coming to the Switch 2 on May 21, but otherwise, the console’s schedule is pretty bare for the rest of the year. There have been leaks about upcoming Switch 2 games that suggest Nintendo is preparing for a massive summer that will include games like Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Splatoon Raiders, and even a brand-new Star Fox game, but that has yet to be confirmed. We’ll find out at the inevitable June 2026 Nintendo Direct if there is any truth to the rumors about the Switch 2’s future lineup, and in the meantime, fans can look forward to the new games releasing for the console in April.
