Every Star Wars Game Currently in Development (April 2026)

Every Star Wars Game Currently in Development (April 2026)

Star Wars games have a rich history. Between the Battlefront series, The Force Unleashed, and even LEGO Star Wars, the franchise has found a second home in gaming. The past two decades have been packed with great and not-so-great titles based around the series, but fans may be about to experience a Star Wars game renaissance. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and its sequel, Survivor, brought forth one of the entire franchise’s most interesting narratives of the past decade, but that series is only the tip of the iceberg of what’s to come.

There are several major Star Wars games currently in development, with two of them slated to launch later this year. The promise of a new Star Wars game is exciting enough, but having a list to look forward to adds an extra dose of excitement. Even better, the projects that are currently being cooked up cover a variety of different genres. So, no matter what someone’s gameplay preference is, there is likely to be a game that suits them.

Every Star Wars Trilogy, Ranked From Worst to Best

Star Wars is separated into three distinct trilogy, the best of which is consistently debated among newer and older fans of the franchise.

Star Wars Games That Are Expected to Come Out in 2026

  • Star Wars: Zero Company
  • Star Wars: Galactic Racer

These two titles bring Star Wars fans a turn-based tactics game and a fast-paced pod racing experience. Zero Company and Galactic Racer are currently slated for 2026, but neither game has locked down an official release date at the moment. Zero Company is a turn-based Star Wars game from the developer of the XCOM series. The game is led by main character Hawks, a former Republic officer who is in charge of his own team of mercenaries. The game’s story takes place near the end of the Clone Wars, so Star Wars lore buffs who are craving a deeper dive into that period will want to keep an eye out for Zero Company.

Galactic Racer doesn’t seem as lore intensive on the surface, but it promises some great action-packed podracing. A proper new podracing Star Wars game is something that a lot of fans have been wanting for a while. It’s hard to say when these two games will be ready for launch, but a summer or fall release date might be the most likely targets.

Two Upcoming Star Wars Games Will Take Place During the Old Republic Era

  • Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic
  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) remake

The Fate of the Old Republic announcement was one of the biggest surprises of last year’s Game Awards. Saber Interactive’s KOTOR remake has been stuck in development hell for several years now, but Fate of the Old Republic is a shimmer of hope for fans who have been wanting another game set during that era. Fate of the Old Republic isn’t directly connected to the KOTOR remake, but it’s planned as a spiritual successor that aims to recapture the magic of the RPG that remains many Star Wars fans’ favorite game. The crashed ship in Fate of the Old Republic‘s trailer even looks a lot like the Leviathan from KOTOR. This quickly ignited rumors that the new take on the Old Republic era will reference KOTOR through Easter eggs at the very least.

The KOTOR Remake is Still in Hiding

When it comes to the state of the KOTOR remake, fans don’t really have any new details to look forward to. This year will make it five long years since the remake was first announced. There have been updates over the years assuring gamers that development is still moving along, but it’s been a long time since any significant news has popped up. Only time will tell, but the long-awaited remake hopefully makes it across the finish line.

Fate of the Old Republic is being directed by Casey Hudson, the original KOTOR director.

Three More Big Star Wars Games Are Shrouded in a Thick Blanket of Mystery

  • Star Wars Jedi 3
  • Star Wars Eclipse
  • Untitled Amy Hennig project

This will hopefully be the year that reveals major Star Wars Jedi 3 news. Whether it be a planned release date or an official trailer, it will be a relief to finally hear a progress report from Respawn Entertainment. There have been some Star Wars Jedi 3 leaks recently, but they should be taken with a grain of salt. The leaks claim that Cal Kestis’ next chapter could even come as early as Q4 of 2026. Because of GTA 6 launching in November, this is unlikely, and the leaks even state that EA could push it back to Q1 2027 to avoid conflicting with such a major release. Every Star Wars Jedi 3 claim that isn’t directly from EA or Respawn deserves plenty of skepticism.

Star Wars Jedi 3‘s story is expected to revolve around Cal’s struggle with the Dark Side.

Star Was Eclipse is Currently M.I.A.

Eclipse is one of the most compelling Star Wars games on the list, but like the KOTOR remake, fans have mostly been met with silence. The game is being developed by Quantic Dream, the studio behind choice-based narrative hits like Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain. Quantic Dream aims to use its choice-based formula to craft a Star Wars tale that features a branching storyline with a variety of characters and consequences. It’s a fascinating concept, but Quantic Dream’s silence has led some to fear that the game has been canceled. According to an anonymous source who recently spoke with Insider Gaming, the project hasn’t been canceled, but Star Wars Eclipse‘s release date is still years away at this point.

Amy Hennig’s Untitled Project is the Most Secretive of All

Without Amy Hennig, gamers wouldn’t have the Uncharted games. Uncharted may not be sci-fi, but a Star Wars game that follows a character who is part Nathan Drake, part Han Solo would be pretty cool. This is speculation, though. Nothing is really known about Amy Hennig’s Star Wars project at the moment, but it’s rumored to have at least some sort of Uncharted vibe. If true, that could be a recipe for a really special Star Wars game. Hennig was already attached to another Star Wars project once before with Project Ragtag, but it got canceled. Her new project hopefully doesn’t meet the same fate.
