Capcom announced a new update is ready for download for Pragmata players on the PlayStation 5 Pro console, which aims to make the game look even better. After multiple delays, Pragmata finally launched to players across multiple platforms and, according to critical reviews, successfully delivers a “classic-style” experience reminiscent of the Xbox 360/PS3 era. Featuring a unique combat experience where players need to both fight and hack enemies in real time, Pragmata has seemingly become a big hit for Capcom.
The unique gameplay elements and impressive visuals have caught on with players as Capcom announced that Pragmata sold 1 million copies in just 2 days, an impressive number for a brand-new IP. While it seems that major companies are shying away from taking risks on new IPs and franchises, the gamble from Capcom appears to have paid off. In fact, there was already a large amount of anticipation from fans, as Pragmata was able to surpass 2 million wishlists and 2 million downloads of the free demo. Thankfully, players seemed to like what they tried, which has translated into sales. With further updates and other additions, it’s entirely possible that number continues to climb.

Pragmata PS5 Pro Update Details
In a post on social media, the official Pragmata account revealed a new update that is now available, but only for PS5 Pro users. The big reason is that this update adds support for PSSR functionality. There’s not much in the way of details, but essentially, the update does exactly what people think, as it enhances the visual quality even further while also providing a smoother 4K 60 FPS performance. In case it wasn’t clear, this specific update is only for PS5 Pro consoles, so Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S players won’t see this.
PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, or PSSR for short, is Sony’s AI-powered feature that is able to upscale how images are rendered on the PS5 Pro, improving the visual clarity and fidelity. Originally launched in 2024, PSSR received a major enhancement earlier this year for PS5 Pro, expanding the functionality to a wider slate of games like Resident Evil Requiem and Crimson Desert to name a few. Pragmata is the latest AAA game to join the group, with Sony expecting the list to continue growing as studios continue to get comfortable using the feature in development.
While the update will be good for PS5 Pro users, it seems Pragmata is already a big hit on Steam as the game surged past 68,000 players on launch weekend and, while it dipped slightly, the game has remained fairly stable in the days since. Naturally, PC players are able to fine tune their experience based on the hardware they have access to, so many have likely already juiced up their own visuals and performance beyond consoles.

Either way, Pragmata‘s success has further cemented that Capcom is on an incredible roll as of late with its slate of releases and currently available games. In addition to Street Fighter 6, which continues to pack in new content and characters, Capcom began 2026 with the launch of Resident Evil Requiem. As many know, Requiem set franchise records while also launching to very positive reviews. Monster Hunter Stories 3 followed that up with even more strong praise from critics and players alike, with Pragmata following suit shortly after. In addition, Capcom still has plenty more on tap, with Onimusha: Way of the Sword set to launch later this year and the return of Mega Man set for sometime in 2027.
