Blizzard confirmed that the next content update for World of Warcraft, Patch 12.0.5, will go live on Tuesday, April 21. The upcoming World of Warcraft content patch will add some new features to the Midnight expansion, including Void Assaults and Ritual Sites, for players to participate in.
WARNING: The following paragraph contains MAJOR SPOILERS for the main campaign of World of Warcraft: Midnight.World of Warcraft‘s Patch 12.0.5 will be released just a few weeks after the base campaign of the Midnight expansion reached its initial conclusion. Following the events of the March on Quel’Danas raid, which saw the surprising yet brief return of Sylvanas Windrunner, the elven races of Azeroth banded together to cleanse the Sunwell of its Void-powered corruption. Using various magical artifacts to balance out the power of the Void, the Sunwell was reborn as the Dawnwell. However, the elves’ celebration may be a hollow one, as Xal’atath and her Devouring Host still pose a threat to Azeroth. Ergo, the Worldsoul Saga is far from over.

World of Warcraft: Midnight Has More Content on the Way
World of Warcraft will release Patch 12.0.5 on Tuesday, April 21, following server maintenance. Once the servers come back online, players will have some new activities to check out. Void Assaults will appear in Eversong Woods and Zul’Aman, and players will be tasked with fending off these incursions. Additionally, Ritual Sites will crop up throughout Midnight’s zones, giving players a way to earn more Great Vault rewards in the World content tier. Players can use Field Accolades earned from Void Assaults and Ritual Sites to purchase Champion and Heroic gear. Additional gear upgrades will also be available via the Voidforge in the Voidstorm, as players can further power up their weapons and trinkets after aiding in a quest to create the Ascendent Nilhammer.
Along with combat-focused activities, players looking for something different in Patch 12.0.5 are in luck. New activities coming in World of Warcraft’s 12.0.5 include Decor Duels, a Prop Hunt hide-and-seek game mode, and Abyss Anglers, an underwater spearfishing challenge. Additionally, World of Warcraft‘s 12.0.5 update will introduce a Pride event called the Darkspear Dash. Based on the player-hosted “Running of the Trolls” event, the Darkspear Dash will likely be held in late June to coincide with the Running of the Trolls. Various rainbow-themed cosmetics will be available for players to get once the Darkspear Dash begins.
World of Warcraft Has a Busy Year Ahead
Though World of Warcraft Patch 12.0.5 will not have any story content, players will not have to wait too much longer to see what lies ahead in the Midnight campaign. Patch 12.0.7 should go live later in spring 2026, which will bring new quests, a new one-boss raid, and the return of the Turbulent Timeways event. World of Warcraft‘s 12.1 content update, which could take place in the troll-themed zone of Atal’Utek, will arrive sometime in the summer. 12.1 will also herald the second season of Midnight.
