PlayStation Plus subscribers have a busy day to look forward to, as the service’s next big update is coming on Tuesday, August 18. Sony recently changed the way it distributes PlayStation Plus games, at least when it comes to the Extra and Premium tiers. Instead of releasing the games all on the same day, Sony has started to spread them throughout the month.
Because of this, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers have already been treated to one new addition. This past Wednesday, the PS Plus Extra tier was updated to include the hugely popular live-service co-op shooter game Helldivers 2. Helldivers 2 was a massive hit when it first launched, and while its playerbase isn’t quite what it once was, there are still many dedicated fans of the game. Helldivers 2 being a part of PS Plus Extra should give the game a significant boost and help more people discover it for themselves.
New PS Plus Games Coming August 18
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
- Vampire Survivors
Premium Tier
- Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire
- Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams
The next PS Plus update is coming on Tuesday, August 18, and it will be quite a bit busier than the previous one. Instead of just one new game, PlayStation Plus subscribers can look forward to four, with two coming to the Extra tier and two coming to the Premium tier. On the Extra tier of the service, PS Plus subscribers can check out Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Vampire Survivors, while the Premium tier is getting access to those games plus the PS1 game Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire and the PS2 game Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Vampire Survivors are two pretty heavy hitters for PS Plus Extra. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a critically-acclaimed, award-winning open world medieval RPG that is known for its intense realism. It even found itself nominated for Game of the Year at the 2025 Game Awards. Vampire Survivors, meanwhile, is an action-packed bullet heaven game with fantastic co-op and an incredibly addicting gameplay loop.
Atlantis: The Lost Empire earned mixed reviews compared to the other new PS Plus games, but it’s the kind of nostalgic addition to the service that will greatly appeal to those that grew up with the PS1. As for Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, it’s coming to PS Plus mere weeks before Onimusha: Way of the Sword releases for PS5, so it’s really a case of perfect timing.
