Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 developer Treyarch Studios has officially unveiled the shooter’s brand new Battle Pass for Season 3, which drops this Thursday, April 2. With the release of this week’s seasonal content update, both Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone fans will be able to get their hands on either the free or premium Season 3 Battle Pass. Or, for those looking for some extra rewards throughout the new season, Call of Duty is once again bringing back the BlackCell Battle Pass variant.
The BlackCell Battle Pass was first introduced to Call of Duty back in 2023, with Season 3 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone. It has now become a staple of new Call of Duty seasons, but not without some controversy. Fans pushed back against the new premium offering, as concerns grew that it could set a dangerous precedent for the series. Although any gameplay-altering items, such as new weapons, are available in the free section of the Battle Pass, Activision continues to paywall more and more cosmetic items behind microtransactions. And, unlike the usual premium Battle Pass, BlackCell can only be purchased with real-life money. Its current cost comes in at $29.99 USD.

Call of Duty Reveals Season 3 Battle Pass for Black Ops 7 and Warzone
Despite the controversy, BlackCell continues to return with each major content update, and Season 3 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be no different. Alongside some brand-new multiplayer maps, modes, and weapons, April 2 will also see the arrival of a fresh Battle Pass for players to get their hands on, with more than 100 rewards up for grabs. And, for the very first time, the BlackCell Battle Pass features its own Camo Challenge Track, plus additional Valkyrie-themed Operator Skins and Weapon Blueprints unlockable via in-game challenges.
As has become tradition, there will be over 100 new rewards in the Season 3 Battle Pass, including new free base weapons plus new Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints, Finishing Moves, and more. The Premium version of the Pass also comes with up to 1,100 COD Points, or players can purchase the Battle Pass Bundle for 2,400 COD Points, which comes with 20 Tier Skips, allowing players to get ahead of the curve and unlock a handful of in-game rewards instantaneously.
For those who plan on purchasing the BlackCell Battle Pass for Call of Duty‘s big Season 3 update, Activision says there are seven exclusive Operator Skins and seven exclusive Weapon Blueprints up for grabs. The “Grasp” BlackCell Skin for the new Javelin Operator is an instant reward that is unlocked upon purchase of BlackCell, followed by the “Lockdown” BlackCell Skin for T.E.D.D. on Page 2, the “Serrated” BlackCell Skin for Wei Lin on Page 5, the “Icecap” BlackCell Skin for Dempsey on Page 7, the “Sleepless” BlackCell Skin for Richtofen on Page 11, the “Tacit” BlackCell Skin for Karma on Page 13, and finally the “Riven” BlackCell Skin for Javelin on the Completion Page of the Season 3 BlackCell Battle Pass.
Season 3 is shaping up to be another massive season for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, as Treyarch is once again set to release three brand-new maps at launch, as well as two iconic remasters: Plaza from Black Ops 2 and Gridlock from Black Ops 4. More maps will be released in the game’s mid-season update, which usually arrives a month after launch. Fans also have plenty of new weapons, game modes, and more to look forward to, as well as the return of Verdansk in Call of Duty: Warzone.
