The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim may be a decade and a half old, but Bethesda is still supporting the latest of the many ports of the game. For PC and console owners of the Skyrim Special Edition, a new update will be accessible later today focused on Creations and mods.
According to Bethesda, this update “will increase console mod storage limits,” allowing them to build a larger collection of mods to easily create games that have been more extensively modified. Additionally, general “Creations improvements” are listed in the patch announcement, though what exactly these improvements will be is unclear. They could simply be visual improvements to the Creations menu, bug squashing, or behind-the-scenes adjustments players never even notice. However, some players are fearful that this update will break their modded games like with previous Skyrim updates, or the recent, disastrous Fallout 4 patch.
To avoid issues, Bethesda has stressed to players that they should log in to their save games if said saves have gone unused for a while. Still, the studio believes load orders should not be affected.
