Cash App is Giving Some Gamers Up to $50 Discounts on the PlayStation Store

Cash App is Giving Some Gamers Up to Discounts on the PlayStation Store

Some Cash App users in the United States are receiving a special discount for the PlayStation Store, giving gamers the chance to save 50% on a new PS4 or PS5 title. The offer is available until the end of the month and can be used on purchases made on the PlayStation Store up to the amount of $100, giving users a discount of $50. With the likes of Saros, 007: First Light, and Marvel’s Wolverine set to arrive over the coming weeks and months, this is the perfect time to get those pre-orders in with a hefty discount.

It’s no secret that the gaming industry is in pretty poor shape right now. Layoffs and studio closures are occurring almost weekly, the cost of game development is going through the roof, and AI is evolving in ways that gamers aren’t happy about. As the global economy also continues to struggle, as well as the shortage of memory components, Sony recently increased the price of the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro, making gaming an even more expensive hobby. As of April 2, it now costs $599.99 for a Digital PS5, $649.99 for a standard console with disc drive, and a whopping $899.99 for the PS5 Pro.

PlayStation 6 Handheld Leak Teases the Device’s Power

As conversations about the next generation of consoles ramps up, one notable leaker hints at the rumored PlayStation 6 handheld’s impressive specs.

Cash App Is Giving Some PlayStation Users a Big Discount

With console prices rising and talks of new AAA titles like Grand Theft Auto 6 costing upwards of $80, gamers are always on the lookout for discounts, deals, and generally any sort of way to make the hobby that little bit cheaper. Well, probably the best deal gamers will see for a long time has just hit Cash App, as the payment app is seemingly offering some users a 50% off on PlayStation Store purchases. As spotted by Twitter user Wario64, certain users within the United States can redeem the offer until the end of April. The 50% off discount can only be used on purchases up to a maximum of $100 on the PlayStation Store, which will result in $50 off.

Reports on the offer seem to be mixed, as some users say they are unable to locate it, while others are finding it with no problem. It appears as though the discount could be targeted, meaning not every Cash App user will receive it. The best way to know if you’ve been given the discount is to search for PlayStation Store in Cash App. If it appears, simply connect your Cash App account with your PlayStation account under the Payment Management section. Then find the new game or DLC you want to purchase on the PlayStation Store and check out with Cash App as your payment method. This should then apply the 50% discount to your purchase.

This offer has come at the perfect time for PlayStation users, as another massive PS5 exclusive is set to launch later this month. Saros, from Returnal developer Housemarque, will launch on April 30 for PlayStation 5. Although not a direct sequel to the critically acclaimed Returnal, it is somewhat of a spiritual successor, building upon the combat and narrative set out in the 2021 release. Unlike Returnal, Saros will include some brand-new features that make each cycle far less punishing, including permanent upgrades, gear, and progression systems.

For those who aren’t interested in dying over and over again in Saros, the new Cash App offer can also be used to pre-order some of the many other PlayStation 5 titles set to release in the coming months. The once Xbox exclusive Starfield is finally making its PS5 debut in just a few days’ time, which will launch alongside a massive new free update for all platforms. Or, for James Bond fans, Hitman developer IO Interactive is gearing up to release 007: First Light in May, with a fresh take on the iconic agent, featuring a young and somewhat reckless version of Bond as he begins his story as an MI6 recruit.
