Cookie Run: New World is the name of a new 3D open-world game from South Korean studio Devsisters. Announced during the company’s latest annual showcase, the upcoming addition to the Cookie Run franchise is still a long way out, being planned for release in the late 2020s.
The reveal follows earlier signals that Devsisters was preparing a larger-scale expansion of the Cookie Run brand. In a February 2026 strategy update, the company confirmed it was working on an Unreal Engine open-world game for PC, consoles, and mobile devices. At the time, Devsisters said the upcoming title was code-named “Project N,” framing it as a way to expand its franchise to new audiences, ultimately helping strengthen its global footprint.

Cookie Run: New World Announced During Devsisters’ DevNow 2026 Showcase
Project N was officially revealed as Cookie Run: New World during the DevNow 2026 showcase. The March 20 event featured a 91-second announcement trailer establishing the game as a big-budget 3D title with a picturesque open world. A company official described the title as an action RPG during the showcase. No more gameplay details were offered, although the South Korean developer shared a bit more about the upcoming title’s lore and status.

Cookie Run: New World Targeting 2029 Release
Cookie Run: New World is currently targeting a 2029 launch. The stated launch window is meant to coincide with the series’ 20th anniversary. The original entry, OvenBreak, launched on June 12, 2009. That is not necessarily to say that Cookie Run: New World is actively targeting a June 2029 debut. In all likelihood, it is not at a stage where a specific release month is seriously being discussed by Devsisters higher-ups. With modern game development being as complex as it is, planning a specific launch month three years in advance is not feasible due to projects having too many moving parts, thus coming with a notable degree of unpredictability baked in.
The upcoming open-world RPG is set sometime after the era of the five legendary heroes from the Cookie Run lore. Players will assume the role of an unassuming protagonist, exploring many nooks and crannies of the Cookie continent. During their travels, they will face a threat emerging from a mysterious source, Devsisters said. The combination of an open-world format and action-RPG combat suggests Cookie Run: New World will have plenty of side quests to offer, keeping in line with genre conventions. However, no concrete details have been shared during DevNow 2026. Given that the project has ostensibly entered active production only recently or is about to do so (based on its release window), it is likely that many of its gameplay elements are not set in stone yet.
Cookie Run: New World is the first Devsisters game to be in development for PC and consoles alike. It is also in the works for mobile devices. Although Devsisters did not elaborate any further, its track record indicates that “mobile” means both iOS and Android. Many key questions about the project are yet to be answered, including its business model and fundamental gameplay design. Regarding the latter, Devsisters’ announcement did not specify whether Cookie Run: New World is planned to be a single-player or multiplayer experience. Likewise, it remains unclear whether the Unreal Engine 5-powered title will be paid or adopt some kind of free-to-play business model.
