Crimson Desert Player Unlocks Platinum Trophy After 305 Hours in the Game

Crimson Desert Player Unlocks Platinum Trophy After 305 Hours in the Game

A Crimson Desert player has managed to earn the game’s Platinum trophy on PS5 after more than 300 hours in the game. Pearl Abyss’ massive medieval epic hasn’t even been out for a whole month yet, but that hasn’t stopped players from sinking an impressive amount of time into the game. It was always evident that Crimson Desert had a lot to offer, but now players know it will take a serious commitment to experience all of it.

Pearl Abyss made some bold claims about the size of its latest game before it was out. Now that it’s out in the wild, it’s lived up to those expectations. It can take 55 to 60 hours to beat Crimson Desert‘s main story, and over 200 to complete all of the many side quests. Even that is not enough to satisfy some gamers, though, as a select group has earned every single trophy that Crimson Desert has available.

Crimson Desert is Still an Absolute Monster on Steam

Pearl Abyss’ Crimson Desert is outperforming many other single-player games by maintaining a massive playerbase on Steam.

Crimson Desert Player Earns Platinum Trophy Less than 3 Weeks After Release

On April 6, less than three weeks after Crimson Desert launched, Redditor TioZer0 shared that they had earned the game’s Platinum PS5 trophy. While the game hasn’t been out for long, TioZer0 said the achievement took them 305 hours, meaning completing all of Crimson Desert‘s 34 trophies required more than 12 entire real-world days of playtime. That’s quite the feat, but the OP admits they went in blind and suggests someone using more of the information that’s now out there could do the same in 130 to 150 hours, although this is just an estimate. TioZer0 also said at least 60 of their in-game hours were spent hunting bugs and fish after finishing everything else.

In the comments of the post, TioZer0 explained that they hadn’t noticed any missable challenges but did find that some achievements are much easier when done earlier. That includes killing 10 jackals while wearing a black bear helmet, as this helmet becomes harder to find later in the game, and destroying five enemies at once with a canon. Fort Windridge is one of the game’s only locations with canons, so if players liberate it before unlocking that achievement, it’ll be tough to find another opportunity. That’s worth noting because Fort Windridge is home to one of Crimson Desert‘s many boss fights, so it can be tempting to knock it out quickly.

TioZer0’s accomplishment has even caught the eye of Pearl Abyss itself. The studio’s PR and Marketing Director, Will Powers, retweeted news of the achievement and pointed out how it had only been 428 hours since Crimson Desert‘s relatively rough launch at the time. That means that the OP has spent just 123 hours, or five full days, outside the game since its release. TioZer0 admits that they had multiple 56-hour sessions and recognizes that this “is extremely unhealthy,” so they don’t recommend the approach to everyone.

According to PSNProfiles, 16 PS5 users have unlocked Crimson Desert‘s Platinum trophy at the time of writing. While the game has been out for slightly longer than it was when TioZer0 accomplished this feat, it’s still in its first month, so even 16 people completing all trophies is impressive. It remains to be seen where Crimson Desert will land among the rarest PlayStation Platinum trophies of all time, but considering how just 0.11% of players have done it so far, it seems like a tough challenge.
