Crimson Desert Players Really Hate Yann

Crimson Desert Players Really Hate Yann

Crimson Desert players have found a common enemy to vent their frustration at online, and that enemy is Yann. This supporting character elicits strong reactions from players, as evidenced by online discussions on forums dedicated to this action-adventure game, where users mostly seem to compete with one another to point out the traits they dislike about this particular companion of the protagonist. Despite the widespread belief in the community that Crimson Desert is “not for everyone,” this one point seems to be beyond dispute among gamers.

One of the most distinctive features of this game is its massive open world, where players can fight, complete missions, and explore according to their own priorities and playstyle. The vast fantasy universe also includes various NPCs from Crimson Desert, who provide opportunities for interaction and play different roles in the unfolding story. Often, their role is also to add an extra layer of realism and immersion to the gameplay, making the player’s encounter with them even more memorable.

Yann From Crimson Desert Is Hated by Players

However, one character, Yann, has gained a bad reputation among players. This was recently observed on a subreddit dedicated to Pearl Abyss’s action-adventure game, where a user named olivinetrees posted a screenshot from the game showing the prompt to talk to Yann, which they commented on by saying that it was the worst part of their entire experience. The player also expressed strong opinions about one of the comrades in Crimson Desert, emphasizing that interacting with him isn’t fun and that they hate having to do it every time.

The discussion sparked by the post drew in many Crimson Desert fans, who collectively backed the author’s opinion, even pointing to specific situations and reasons behind their hatred for Yann. Some of them expressed dislike for the character because of his personality traits, which they found irritating and off-putting, as well as his constant complaining and alcohol abuse. Other players, on the other hand, focused on the missions featuring him, which they found tedious and drawn-out, mentioning the bugged-out wagon mission and the mechanic in Crimson Desert that requires riding a horse to follow him. Ultimately, most commenters concluded that Yann could be considered not only the worst character in the game, but also that he should be included on the list of the most hated characters in the history of gaming.

Fans of the game often have very strong opinions about its various aspects, and they aren’t afraid to voice them publicly. However, Yann isn’t the only character who came under fire, as players have also directed their criticism at Crimson Desert‘s protagonist, Kliff, believing the game would be better off if it featured custom characters. Some comments were also directed at other playable characters, whose potential, according to fans, has not been fully realized.

Crimson Desert‘s developers have addressed fan complaints in the past, such as those regarding clunky controls, which led to changes and improvements. In Yann’s case, however, any criticism stems not from flaws in the game’s design or oversights, but rather from players’ reactions to the story and the world in which it is set. Although fans don’t have particularly favorable opinions or experiences with this character, there are still some positives to be found, such as the joy of sharing frustrations through funny memes or even just discussing annoyances with people who feel the same way.
