Crimson Desert Reveals What’s Coming in the Next Update

Crimson Desert Reveals What’s Coming in the Next Update

Crimson Desert developer Pearl Abyss revealed that it is still preparing some of the features it mentioned in its April 10 Dev Update post, such as new difficulty settings and some control presets. However, the Crimson Desert development team stated that players will not have much longer to wait for the next patch, as Pearl Abyss stated it planned to roll out the update in late April.

Along with Pearl Abyss’ stock shares skyrocketing, Crimson Desert‘s sales have also continued to rise. Within a month of launch, Crimson Desert sold over five million copies worldwide on all supported platforms. However, Pearl Abyss has remained at work with developing and releasing patches to address lingering concerns that players have brought up.

Crimson Desert Players Really Hate Yann

Players of Crimson Desert collectively express their hatred for one of the game’s NPCs, Yann, and are competing to criticize him.

Crimson Desert’s Next Update Is A Big One

One week after Pearl Abyss revealed some of the changes planned for Crimson Desert, the development team posted an encouraging progress report on social media. Crimson Desert stated on Twitter that the development team is still preparing to launch its next update in late April, and that it will include some features that players had requested since the game’s launch. Some new category tabs for the inventory are planned for the next update, along with a new difficulty settings feature to give Crimson Desert fans more ways to enjoy their experience. Pearl Abyss stated that Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulty options can be selected, and that new combat activities are still in development. Crimson Desert will also add some new control presets for players to peruse, with options for controllers alongside keyboard and mouse. Crimson Desert stated that it plans to roll out the update within a week of its recent progress report.

Ergo, the week of April 19 to 25 is a likely window that players can expect Crimson Desert‘s update to be ready. In Crimson Desert‘s previous 1.03 game update, some issues with the Greymane camp and dialogue were addressed. Additionally, Crimson Desert‘s 1.03 update added support for Intel Arc graphics cards, along with Intel XeSS 3.0 upscaling, after controversially stating it had no plans to do so. However, due to overwhelming player feedback, Pearl Abyss changed course. Continued improvements to the game’s graphics, such as water surface reflections and indoor lighting quality, were also included.

Crimson Desert Will Continue Making Improvements Per Player Feedback

Crimson Desert’s late April update will also include some distant scenery quality improvements across the board. However, Pearl Abyss cautioned Crimson Desert players by stating that the next content update will have a larger file size than the previous patches. As of this writing, the file size of Crimson Desert‘s late April update has not been revealed. However, given that Crimson Desert has struggled on some PS5 and Xbox consoles without some tweaks from players, it remains to be seen what impact the distance scenery changes will have across all platforms.

Pearl Abyss stated that more updates are planned through at least June to add more features to Crimson Desert, such as new skills for Oongka and Damiane. Despite the game’s bumpy start, Crimson Desert continues to draw in players on all platforms. With Crimson Desert‘s Steam player count remaining high, Pearl Abyss’ open-world title is clearly not slowing down anytime soon. However, time will tell how long Crimson Desert can keep the momentum going.
