Blizzard is making some very important changes to War Plans in Diablo 4 Season 14, addressing some of the biggest criticisms of the endgame feature since its initial introduction. Diablo 4 Season 14 is just a few days away, and anticipation is building to see whether Blizzard’s latest round of patch notes will deliver a season as strong as the previous one.
War Plans in Diablo 4 were introduced as part of the Lord of Hatred expansion. This activity allowed players to choose a playlist of tasks to complete in succession, including Nightmare Dungeons, The Pit, Infernal Hordes, and more. Completing War Plans would reward loot, resources, and XP, allowing for accelerated progression into the endgame. While they were a popular activity, there was some frustration in the community with War Plans, which Blizzard has sought to address in Season 14 of Diablo 4.
A New Diablo 4 Bug Fix Can Make Players Immortal
The latest update for Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred aims to fix a key issue with one enchantment buts ends up making players essentially immortal.
Diablo 4 Season 14 Patch Notes Show Big War Plans Changes
The patch notes for Diablo 4 Season 14 are available right now, revealing some significant changes to War Plans. The most obvious is an increase in XP rewards in Torment 8 and above. This makes it more rewarding to complete War Plans for players at higher difficulty levels, speeding up the endgame. One of the big issues with War Plans is that Infernal Hordes take more time to complete than any other activity, so Blizzard has also specifically increased rewards for that activity to make it more worthwhile. Another significant addition for Season 14 is Party War Plans, complete with synchronized progression and objectives. Previously, there was no way to keep War Plans in sync with friends, which could lead to differing rewards, even between party members. Now, players can ensure all rewards stay the same between their friends when completing War Plans together.
Who’s That Character?

Unfortunately, the most requested War Plans feature is still absent in Diablo 4 Season 14: account-wide War Plans. Right now, every new character has to start their War Plans from the beginning, while players throughout Season 13 have begged Blizzard to make them account-wide. There is no sign of this coming in the upcoming season, but with increased XP rates for War Plans, hopefully, that will make the progression less frustrating with new characters.
There’s plenty to come from Diablo 4 Season 14 when it drops on June 30. Among the changes are buffs to most of the game’s classes, as well as a huge adjustment to Uniques in Diablo 4 that makes it easier to get endgame build items. Recent seasons of the game have been extremely popular among players, so Season 14 definitely has a lot to live up to.
With several strong seasons in a row, Diablo 4 is in a good place at the moment. The game broke its concurrent player count record on Steam after Lord of Hatred‘s release, indicating that it continues to go from strength to strength. Rumors of a Diablo 4 Switch 2 release continue to gather steam, too.
