Dragon Ball’s Beerus Officially Returns on July 8

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, the anime remake, is set to release sometime in Fall 2026, but fans of the God of Destruction can take part in a brand-new release for him on July 8. Beerus has been popular since its introduction years ago, so it’s not surprising to see the Dragon Ball franchise give him an extra look ahead of said release.

Of course, it’s a busy time for Dragon Ball fans. The Dragon Ball Super: Beerus anime release is just one thing on the list, with The Galactic Patrol also set to get an anime adaptation soon. On the game front, Dragon Ball: Xenoverse 2 is getting its final DLC on June 8, bringing a decade of support to that game to an end. It’ll no doubt leave a void once players wrap up its new content, but fans looking for more Dragon Ball content to consume and games to play can also look forward to July 8.

New Official Solo Leveling Release Confirmed for 2026

A brand-new Solo Leveling release gets a new story trailer ahead of its official 2026 release date.

Dragon Ball’s Beerus Officially Joins Gekishin Squadra on July 8

On July 8, Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra celebrates the upcoming release of Dragon Ball Super: Beerus by adding him to the roster. He released alongside Season 6 of Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra, which is a MOBA from 2025 for anyone unfamiliar. Dragon Ball: Gekishina Squadra is also a free game, so fans lose nothing by checking it out. Beerus, the God of Destruction, joins as a new playable Hero who can switch between close-range and long-range Skills before using his Finisher or Super Attack to eliminate enemies marked with the Mark of Destruction. The update also introduces several other pieces of new content launching alongside the season, adding new Divine Draws, Helpers, Bosses, and more as well.

  • New Hero: Beerus
  • New Divine Draw: Burst Step
  • New Helpers: Tapion and Dende
  • New Boss: Yakon

As a note, Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra is a free-to-play four-versus-four online action game, a MOBA to be precise, where teams battle over objectives while defeating enemies and bosses to grow stronger throughout each match. As rounds progress, players unlock increasingly powerful attacks and abilities inspired by the Dragon Ball series, creating matches that escalate into large-scale battles. It may have easily flown under the radar, as it was released in September 2025, but each season has continuously improved the game. On Metacritic, it holds a Metascore of 81, so it’s worth checking out for any DBZ game fans or fans of the anime at large.

Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra is available on PC, PlayStation consoles, Nintendo Switch consoles, and mobile.

Season 6 is shaping up to be one of Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra’s biggest updates yet, with Beerus headlining a sizable batch of new content arriving on July 8. For Dragon Ball fans looking for another free game to jump into, the update adds one of the franchise’s most iconic gods while continuing the steady stream of seasonal support that has defined Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra since launch.

MOBAs aren’t for everyone, of course, but DBZ is standing tall in the gaming space. Xenoverse 2 may be coming to an end, but it’s also heralding the release of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 in 2027, which may introduce a new threat in the Time Gods of Destruction. Across all its upcoming media, it’s clear that Dragon Ball is doubling down on the love fans have for Gods of Destruction.
