Eight additional Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls characters have been discovered via a leak in the game’s code, indicating that the game’s roster may eventually expand to include more fan-favorite characters. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is the latest fighting game from Arc System Works, known for its efforts on popular titles such as Guilty Gear Strive.
During the open beta for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, several players pointed out that the PC version had some outstanding issues that caused inputs to be delayed and affected system performance. Although reviews of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls on PS5 have stated that the game has performed smoothly on Sony’s console, that has not stopped concerned players from providing feedback on the state of the PC port. As of this writing, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls has a Mixed user rating of 47% on Steam.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls May Add Eight Fan-Favorite Heroes to the Game
While Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls has a roster of over 20 playable fighters, that number may soon go up. According to leaks posted on Twitter by Sociedade X-Men and X0XLeak, information about eight additional playable fighters was discovered within the game’s code. These fighters are stated to be Gambit, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Wasp, and The Fantastic Four, consisting of The Thing, Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, and Human Torch. Additionally, Sociedade X-Men pointed out another file that showed potential character swap interactions when Loki is on the same team as either Gambit or The Thing. Though this information was found in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Soul‘s game code, rumors about unreleased fighters should still be taken with a fine grain of salt.

The roster of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is currently divided into five teams consisting of four playable characters each. While some teams, like the Fighting Avengers, have an established history of working together within Marvel’s comic book and movie continuity, other squads such as the Samurai Outriders are more of a ragtag group by comparison. In the case of The Fantastic Four, the group would easily fall into the former category, given their collective reputation as one of the most iconic superhero teams across the genre.
Although The Fantastic Four would fit right in as a cohesive unit within Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, it is unclear how the other four leaked fighters could co-exist together as a squad. No other information about the leaked fighters was uncovered in the game’s data. It remains to be seen when developer Arc System Works will add each of the aforementioned leaked superheroes to Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. In response, some Marvel Tokon fans expressed excitement over the possible addition of Gambit and The Fantastic Four to the game, while others asked for other Marvel characters like Scarlet Witch and The Punisher to appear in some form in future updates.
In the meantime, Arc System Works stated that Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls will continue to receive support to address any outstanding issues. A new Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls update went live on August 10 to address some performance issues with the PC version, including some fixes that may alleviate heavy CPU usage when playing the game.
