Like most everything else in life, Fortnite V-Bucks are going up in price, Epic Games has announced. Epic Games had a blunt and transparent reason for raising prices.
“The cost of running Fortnite has gone up a lot and we’re raising prices to help pay the bills,” the studio said. The new prices go into effect on March 19.
You can see a full breakdown of the new prices in the graphic below. Epic Rewards members get 20% back on purchases in Fortnite, as well as Fall Guys and Rocket League, when made through the Epic Games Store or Epic’s own payment system on PC, iOS, and Android.
Additionally, Fortnite’s Battle Pass will now cost 800 V-Bucks and pay out 800 V-Bucks for completing it. Under the previous setup, it cost 1,000 V-Bucks but offered 1,000 V-Bucks back, plus a bonus of 500 in Bonus Rewards.
“You can earn 800 V-Bucks when completing the Battle Pass, which is enough to get the next one. There are no longer V-Bucks in the Bonus Rewards of the Pass,” Epic said.
Additionally, the Battle Bundle is going down from 2,800 to 2,600 V-Bucks. The Battle Bundle includes the Battle Pass and the first 25 levels of the pass unlocked right away.
Fortnite Crew, the Fortnite membership that costs $12/month, is getting an update, too, with Epic lowering the number of V-Bucks subscribers get from 1,000 to 800. Fortnite Crew is now included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
Other pricing changes include decreases for the OG Pass, the Music Pass, and the Lego Pass.
- The OG Pass will cost 800 V-Bucks (previously 1,000).
- The Music Pass will cost 1,200 V-Bucks (previously 1,400).
- The Lego Pass will cost 1,200 V-Bucks (previously 1,400).
