“Horrendous” Crimson Desert Players Want a Fix for Indoor Lighting

“Horrendous” Crimson Desert Players Want a Fix for Indoor Lighting

Developer Pearl Abyss has continued to patch Crimson Desert since its launch, but a lot of players are still waiting for the game’s indoor lighting to finally be addressed. Crimson Desert has been one of the most popular releases of the year, though many have found it tough to stick with for the long haul.

For many players who have stuck with Crimson Desert through its learning curve, the game is seen as a diamond in the rough. One of the biggest hurdles that players have had to get over is Crimson Desert‘s controls. Beyond the unorthodox controls, a few of Crimson Desert‘s main critiques have revolved around its story, combat, quest design, and the dragon mount’s long cool down period. On the bright side, Pearl Abyss has been taking player feedback to heart with its post-launch patches, and many are hoping that an indoor lighting patch is on the list of things that will be improved in the future.

How to Remove Dragon Cooldown in Crimson Desert

Narima’s Horn completely removes the dragon cooldown in Crimson Desert, ensuring you can fly on this epic mount without delay. Here’s how to get it.

Crimson Desert Players Are Hoping the Game’s Indoor Lighting Will Eventually Get Fixed

Reddit user Cearito shared an in-game clip captured while playing that demonstrates how frustrating Crimson Desert‘s indoor lighting can actually be. The footage shows Kliff in a dark room with a lamp painting a portion of the space in an oversaturated orange and yellow glow. The shadows cast by the light are strange and inconsistent, and the latter half of the clip showcases a significant lighting bug that makes the room’s wallpaper look like it’s moving. More Crimson Desert updates are already planned by Pearl Abyss, and many players have commented on Cearito’s footage to voice their hopes that this problem gets addressed sooner, rather than later.

Cearito’s footage specifically comes from Crimson Desert‘s console version, and fellow console players have confirmed that they have been dealing with similar lighting issues, too. Even PC players have agreed that the game’s indoor lighting needs to be worked on. According to some, the game’s indoor light design isn’t the only lighting that is causing problems, either. Comments on Cearito’s post also had plenty to say about how frustrating Crimson Desert‘s nighttime lighting is. The consensus in the comment section has been that Crimson Desert‘s gameplay is fantastic during the daytime outdoors, but exploring indoors or at night is less than ideal at the moment.

Crimson Desert’s Post-Launch Updates Will Hopefully Help Build a Stronger Game

Pearl Abyss’ single-player adventure definitely isn’t a perfect experience, but plenty of players have already sunk a lot of hours into the game. Despite its issues, Crimson Desert‘s player numbers prove that it has been quite successful, and the developer’s willingness to fix problems based on player feedback is a promising sign for the game’s future. Some of the planned improvements on the way include features like difficulty settings, a Boss Rematch option, more pets and mounts, and upgrades to Damiane and Oongka.

Crimson Desert‘s reviews may have been more mixed than some gamers expected, but the game hasn’t had any issues finding its audience. It’s one of the top games on Steam at the moment. It may not be one of the best open-world RPGs of the past decade just yet, but the upcoming updates are a step in the right direction. Only time will tell if Pearl Abyss fixes indoor and nighttime lighting, though.
