The Wolf Among Us 2 may finally have a release window in sight, and fans may get news of the long-awaited sequel before long. The Telltale title based on DC’s Fables comic series is often regarded as one of the studio’s best, but its follow-up has faced a long and difficult road since its reveal. There haven’t been any official details on The Wolf Among Us 2 for a while, but now there’s reason to believe the silence could end soon.
Telltale re-confirmed The Wolf Among Us 2 in 2019, taking fans by surprise at that year’s Game Awards. This reveal came a year after the studio had filed for bankruptcy and ultimately shut down, leaving many of its projects with an uncertain future. A few months before the Game Awards 2019 reveal, Telltale Games was resurrected when LCG Entertainment bought the brand, which offered some relief but still raised questions about what to expect going forward. Fast-forward to today, and many of those questions remain, but fans may get some clarity at last in the near future.

The Wolf Among Us 2 May Come Out in 2027
Anonymous sources have told Argentine news outlet Press Over that The Wolf Among Us 2 is currently targeting a 2027 release, with an announcement coming sometime this year. The last official update on the game came in 2024, when Telltale reassured fans that The Wolf Among Us 2 had not been canceled and said it would share more “when the time is right.” According to Press Over’s sources, the team behind the game scrapped what it had and started over at the end of 2025, which could be why the time hasn’t been right to say anything since 2024. That would also make a 2027 release window believable, given how quick older Telltale titles’ development timeline has been.
While 2027 may not be far away now, it is a noticeable departure from the game’s initial timeline. The original game came out over a decade ago in 2013, and after Telltale’s revival, The Wolf Among Us 2 was supposed to come out in 2023 before getting delayed into 2024. Clearly, a 2024 release did not happen, and apart from staff occasionally saying the sequel was still in development, there has been little to no movement on The Wolf Among Us 2 since, so this fresh leak is welcome news for fans who’ve been waiting since the 2010s. Still, with no confirmation from Telltale itself, the legitimacy of these rumors remains uncertain.
How the sequel will hold up against its lauded predecessor is another big question. In 2023, it came out that several Wolf Among Us 2 devs had been laid off, so many of the original team members are presumably no longer involved. Press Over says Telltale is now working with a studio in Argentina on the game, and this external support could help push the game across the finish line by 2027, but the previous layoffs and rumors of the game starting from scratch may be worrying signs for some fans of the original. Of course, it’s always possible that a fresh start could be what The Wolf Among Us 2 needed to get it back on track and meet expectations after such a long wait.
The anonymous sources behind this latest update also claim an “enhanced version” of the first Wolf Among Us game could come out between now and the sequel’s eventual release. A remaster of one of Telltale Games’ best titles would make sense as a way to get the hype train rolling again to ensure a successful launch for the next game. There may be plenty of lingering questions, but if these reports are true, 2026 could have some major news in store.
