Lord of Hatred Players Should Invest in This War Plans Activity ASAP

War Plans are a massive game-changer for Diablo 4‘s endgame in Lord of Hatred. Where Diablo 4‘s endgame in the past has felt somewhat directionless and overwhelming, making it easy for players to fall off after they’ve completed the main campaign, War Plans lets players track their endgame progression by leveling up endgame activities and spending points to unlock modifier nodes. In order to maximize their endgame efficiency, Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred players should focus on leveling up one War Plans tree first and foremost.

Players won’t unlock War Plans until after finishing the main story of Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred. However, once unlocked, War Plans become the primary way Diablo 4 players will engage with the endgame. War Plans streamline the endgame grind so that players don’t have to search for the activity they want to participate in, since creating a War Plan lays it all out for the player and lets them teleport to the activity automatically, but there are still ways to cut down on the grind to max Paragon level even further.

This S-Tier Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred Warlock Build is Basically a Demon Meat Grinder

Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred has some impressive Warlock builds available, and one let’s players slaughter their own demons for massive buffs.

Diablo 4 Players Should Level Up The Pit War Plans First

The endgame activities included in War Plans are:

  • Tree of Whispers
  • Nightmare Dungeons
  • Helltides
  • The Kurast Undercity
  • Lair Bosses
  • Infernal Hordes
  • The Pit of the Artificer

As players build out their War Plans, they will want to choose the activities that offers the necessary rewards for completing their build, such as Rune farming in the Undercity or farming Uniques from Lair Bosses. Although War Plans are meant to be a customizable endgame experience for Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, the most efficient way to get an endgame build going fast is by focusing on running The Pit before moving on to grinding other activities.

The Best Upgrade Nodes for The Pit

  • Choron’s Haste — The Pit gains the Haste Mastery objective. When you kill the Guardian gain +1 Glyph Upgrade Chance for every 5 minutes left on the Timer.
  • Choron’s Blessing — Gain +1 Glyph Upgrade Chance for completing The Pit.
  • Heart of Stone — Begin The Pit carrying the Heart of Stone, a fragile relic that is dropped after taking sustained damage and breaks after dropping 10 times. While you carry it, enemies can drop bonus Progress Orbs. After slaying the Guardian, Choron’s Pedestal appears. Deposit the Heart of Stone within to gain +1 Glyph Upgrade Chance.

When participating in one of Diablo 4‘s endgame activities, player will earn XP towards leveling up that activity via War Plans. Diablo 4 lets players spend earned tokens from leveling up an activity on its associated Upgrade Tree to modify certain aspects of that activity, like its challenges and rewards. For the Pit of the Artificer, any of the upgrade nodes that offer +1 Glyph Upgrade Chance is the ideal place to start investing points. Nodes like Choron’s Haste and Choron’s Blessing are essentially free extra Glyph Upgrades, but Heart of Stone offers a bit more of a challenge, tasking players with carrying a fragile relic all the way through the Pit to the Guardian.

Why Investing in More Glyph Upgrades Should Be Diablo 4 Players’ War Plans Priority

Having access to more Glyph Upgrades early in Diablo 4‘s endgame is a fantastic way to make endgame builds hit hard sooner. Glyphs add modifiers to Diablo 4‘s Paragon Board, and upgrading these Glyphs in the Pit increases their Paragon Board range and potency, making them a core part of achieving the perfect build. Before Lord of Hatred added War Plans, the Pit was a major grind that took up a large portion of Diablo 4‘s endgame. Now that players can earn even more Glyph upgrades thanks to the War Plans Upgrade Tree, it should cut down on the number of runs that players will have to make through the Pit.
