Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has just had its trophy list leaked, and it seems to be continuing a very frustrating trend for the FPS franchise. According to the current list of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Trophies, the game will feature no Platinum Trophy on PS5, and it’s all Call of Duty HQ’s fault.
Introduced alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in 2022, the Call of Duty HQ app has received a great deal of criticism since its debut. While the concept of having the last few Call of Duty entries all available in one place and at the tap of a button sounds convenient on paper, in practice, Call of Duty HQ offers quite the opposite, with its ever-growing user-interface proving to be a continually cumbersome experience.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Will Have No Platinum Trophy on PS5
First spotted and shared on Twitter by PlayStation Game Size, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will be seemingly yet another entry that will only be accessible via the Call of Duty HQ app. This means that when it comes to PlayStation Trophy lists, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will technically count as DLC for 2022’s Modern Warfare 2, just like Modern Warfare 3, Black Ops 6, and Black Ops 7 all did. And just like those last three Call of Duty entries, it looks like Modern Warfare 4 will have no Platinum Trophy on PlayStation.
There are currently 18 Trophies listed for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on PS5. All 18 are campaign-related, with the total being split into 8 Gold Trophies and 10 Silver Trophies. Without spoiling any story details or specifics, these trophies include completing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4‘s campaign on the highest difficulty, picking up 50 collectibles, and quite a few that require players to complete mission-specific objectives on a certain difficulty. The full spoiler-filled Trophy list can be found on PowerPyx.
More often than not, Call of Duty PlayStation Trophy lists usually include at least 20 or so multiplayer-related trophies. That’s true even for the entries that have been categorized as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 DLC. It’s possible that this current version of Modern Warfare 4‘s Trophy list is incomplete, and that it’ll be updated to include some multiplayer, and perhaps some DMZ-related trophies closer to MW4‘s full launch on October 23.
This smaller-than-usual trophy list could also be a symptom of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4‘s staggered release schedule. While the full Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 experience will be available globally on October 23, those who pre-order the Standard or Vault Edition of the game will be able to play its campaign mode from October 16. To make matters just a little more confusing, Modern Warfare 4‘s DMZ mode will then be available on October 20.
