New GTA 6 Leaks Show Brand-New Feature in Police Chases

Alleged Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay leaks suggest that cops might employ a new three-level suspect-identification system. Rumors about Grand Theft Auto 6 NPCs featuring advanced AI have been circulating for a while now, and these new leaks add weight to many of those theories.

On August 18, a leaker group known as CyberLeek started sharing videos of GTA 6 gameplay, including one that showed a conflict with the police. Fans immediately spotted the new six-star wanted system, which differs from the previous installment. But that hasn’t been the only new detail people have identified.

In some of the recently leaked GTA 6 gameplay videos, three icons can be seen popping up on the screen as soon as protagonist Jason becomes a potential suspect. The new icons appear to be a clothes hanger, a human avatar, and a vehicle silhouette. Now, the most popular theory among fans is that these icons, which show up right under the wanted-level bar, actually indicate what the police know about the player.

If the leaked videos are anything to go by, the clothes hanger badge would likely indicate that cops have memorized the player’s current outfit. The human avatar icon, on the other hand, could mean that their face has been identified. And the vehicle icon could indicate that the player’s current ride is being chased by law enforcement. All this could also mean that GTA 6‘s new in-depth customization features are more than just cosmetic choices and could have a significant impact on gameplay.

It also appears that pedestrian NPCs will play a more tangible role as witnesses, as they can now theoretically call the cops on the player based on what they see. Some fans also wonder if wearing masks during a heist or while committing a crime will actually prevent the police from identifying the player. After all, both Jason and Lucia have been seen covering their faces during robberies in official GTA 6 trailers, which could turn out to be an actual key gameplay feature.

While these reported new GTA 6 features would be groundbreaking for Rockstar’s franchise, they are not necessarily revolutionary. A somewhat similar memory-oriented wanted system, for example, has already been implemented in Mafia 2, where law enforcement can target the player based on their reported appearance or vehicle during an act of crime. That said, players seem excited about the possible changes to GTA‘s police encounters and think they could add to the overall immersion. It remains to be seen how much of these leaked gameplay features will be in the actual game, though Rockstar could also introduce them officially via the upcoming Netflix release as well.

Fans should note that the theories presented in this post are based on reported leaks and should be taken with a grain of salt. They are also advised not to download leaked videos from suspicious sources or click on every link that claims to reveal them, as many people have been scammed or phished through such methods.
