Nintendo Switch 2 gamers have an especially busy day to look forward to, as seven new games are releasing for the home console/handheld hybrid all at once. The Switch 2 is one of the fastest-selling new gaming consoles of all time, and the big driving force behind its popularity is its constant release of exciting new games.
2026 has been the Switch 2’s first full calendar year on the market, and Nintendo made sure it was full of noteworthy releases. Pokemon Pokopia was a massive hit for the Switch 2 earlier in 2026, and that game was followed up by titles like Splatoon Raiders, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, and, most recently, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. The Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake has become the highest-rated Switch 2 game and is likely enough to tide most fans over until next year’s offerings, but there’s still plenty to look forward to in the near future.
List of Switch 2 Games Releasing Soon
- Adorable Adventure
- Barbie Rewind
- Harold Halibut
- Metaphor: ReFantazio
- Moomin: Midsummer Madness
- Pikmin 4: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy
- Sonic Pico Park
On Thursday, November 12, a whopping seven games are releasing for the Switch 2 at once. On that day, Switch 2 gamers can look forward to playing Adorable Adventure, Barbie Rewind, Harold Halibut, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Moomin: Midsummer Madness, Pikmin 4: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy, and Sonic Pico Park. While not all of these games will appeal to everybody, it’s unusual for so many games to drop all on the same day, and there is a great deal of variety for sure.
Out of all the new Switch 2 games releasing on November 12, two stand out especially. Metaphor: ReFantazio is an incredible turn-based RPG that originally released for other platforms in 2024 to widespread critical acclaim. Metaphor: ReFantazio even managed to snag some wins at The Game Awards that year, picking up trophies for Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, and Best Role-Playing Game. The Switch 2 already has an impressive library of JRPGs, especially when one takes its backward compatibility with the Switch 1 into account, so Metaphor: ReFantazio should be right at home.
The other especially notable new Switch 2 release coming on November 12 is Pikmin 4: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy. Pikmin 4 is one of the best games released for the original Switch, and generally praised as one of the best entries in the franchise. Pikmin 4‘s Switch 2 edition will come with the usual upgrades, plus exclusive content not available in the original release. Needless to say, it’s definitely something hardcore Pikmin fans will want to keep an eye on.
That’s not to say that the other new games releasing for Switch 2 aren’t exciting. Nostalgic gamers may be especially excited about Barbie Rewind and its selection of games, plus Harold Halibut is a rather visually-striking adventure game. Whatever one’s taste, there’s a lot to look forward to when it comes to the Switch 2 games releasing on November 12.
