Overwatch has officially revealed the trailer for Sierra, the new damage hero coming in Reign of Talon Season 2 on April 14. She is the sixth hero to arrive in 2026, and the 51st playable hero in Overwatch overall.
When Overwatch announced its massive relaunch for 2026, it shadow-dropped five heroes in Reign of Talon Season 1, and promised another playable character in every subsequent season. On March 31, Overwatch revealed the character who would be arriving in Season 2 on April 14, though no details beyond her appearance were shared.
Overwatch’s New Spin-Off Game Can’t Risk Repeating OW2’s Greatest Mistake
Overwatch Rush is bringing the franchise to mobile gamers, and if Blizzard wants it to thrive, it’ll keep one of the biggest lessons from OW2 in mind.
Overwatch Reign of Talon Season 2 Hero Sierra Coming April 14
Now, Overwatch has finally given fans a first glimpse at this new character. Sierra is an athletic captain who works for Helix Security. In her hero trailer, “Summit Break,” Sierra teams up with Overwatch to prevent Talon from stealing something from Watchpoint: Grand Mesa. She comes face-to-face with Emre, using her drone and weapons to defeat him. Unfortunately, the Overwatch Reign of Talon Season 1 hero’s Override kicks in, forcing Sierra on her back foot. Freja then arrives, catches Sierra with her Bola Shot, and extracts Emre and the payload.
Sierra says the item Emre stole from Grand Mesa was found in the “Naughton Vault.” Victoria Naughton was the scientist responsible for the biological enhancement program that created Reaper and Soldier: 76 in Overwatch, so the payload Talon stole may be related to the creation of super soldiers.
While Sierra’s full ability kit hasn’t been revealed yet, the trailer gives gamers a pretty good idea of how she will play. The Damage hero has a repeating pulse rifle similar to Sojourn in Overwatch. However, instead of a charged railgun shot, Sierra can launch a violet spike that sticks to enemies, which could be her ultimate. This projectile causes her attacks to home in on the enemy, and seems to explode either after a certain duration or once the target takes enough damage. Sierra can grapple to a flying drone, and has the ability to reveal targets, suggesting she may be the Recon sub-role.
Fans won’t have to wait long to learn exactly how Sierra operates in Overwatch. Her gameplay trailer is currently scheduled for April 9, which will show her in-game model and how she works. Gamers can expect a detailed breakdown of her weapon, abilities, ultimate, and perks along with the trailer.

A motion comic for Sierra is also planned for release on April 13, the day before her debut in Overwatch for Reign of Talon Season 2. Players can expect this comic to detail Sierra’s backstory, likely including how she joined Helix Security and how she learned to control her recon drone, narrated by her voice actor. The trailer for Season 2 is also scheduled the same day, which will reveal more information about what’s coming in the update. Besides Sierra, Overwatch Reign of Talon Season 2 includes a remodel of Anran’s face, an Antarctic Peninsula map rework, a Switch 2 port, and possibly even a story meta event pertaining to the Grand Mesa operation seen in the new hero’s trailer.
