Overwatch collaborations have been largely well received since they first began with One-Punch Man back in 2023. Players have seen their favorite heroes become G.I. Joe soldiers, Robots in Disguise, and Phantom Thieves. Some collabs have even gotten a few batches of content, such as the sets of skins based on K-Pop group Le Sserafim or the multiple batches of Diablo outfits. While Sombra got the ball rolling several years ago, and Lilith, Inarius, and more took things to new heights in Overwatch 2, many have been blown away by the latest options. While plenty have focused on Mephisto Ramattra and his intimidating voice lines, or Druid Mauga being a literal bear, it’s Brigitte’s flashy Paladin ensemble that could have players thinking about a Critical Role collaboration.
While Critical Role has found success in the world of video games thanks to Dispatch, the excellent animated series covering the events of the group’s Dungeons and Dragons campaigns made the likes of Vox Machina and The Meighty Nein into household names. When looking at Brigitte’s white clothing and blonde hair (not to mention her short father), one may think of Pike from Vox Machina, a particularly memorable Paladin brought to life by Ashley Johnson. Given how light and humorous Critical Role’s campaigns can get, they’d arguably suit Overwatch better than Diablo, even if the latter is a Blizzard franchise. So, with this fitting tone, Vox Machina Season 3 right around the corner, and an “in” available via Matt Mercer’s role as Cole Cassidy, it’s worth examining what a Critical Role collab could look like.
Overwatch Leaker Supposedly Reveals All of 2026’s Heroes
A credible Overwatch leaker reveals the next four heroes allegedly coming to the hero shooter in 2026 as a part of the Reign of Talon storyline.
What Overwatch Heroes Could Get Vox Machina Skins?
- Reinhardt (Grog)
- Freja (Vex)
- Mercy (Keyleth)
- Reaper (Vax)
- Cassidy (Percy)
- Lifeweaver (Scanlan)
- Mei (Pike)
When looking at Overwatch’s cast, it quickly becomes clear how there are a few obvious matches for Vox Machina’s party. Perhaps the most obvious is the muscle-bound Grog, as the sweet-but-simple axe user makes for an ideal Reinhardt skin. Rein’s booming voice delivering some of Grog’s best lines would just feel right, and it’s hardly the only scenario where a perfect fit presents itself. Freja is practically begging for Vex skin since she wields a bow and can pull off her personality, while the regular skin receiver Mercy using a staff means she’d be a solid choice for Keyleth. Additionally, Vax’s raven vibes and teleportation make him an ideal candidate for Reaper.

Percy’s mask and edginess when possessed could have also helped him work as a Reaper skin, though with Reaper already having a plague doctor outfit and Percy’s signature weapon suiting Cassidy better, the outlaw would be better for this iconic character. As for the final members of the party, Pike and Scanlan, a few liberties might need to be taken given their short stature. Torbjorn is the only character that works from a height standpoint, after all, so going for heroes that fit better personality-wise or mechanically may be preferable. For Scanlan, Lifeweaver could look good in his outfit, and his normal life grip animation could be replaced by the large pink hand that Scanlan often summons with magic. And while Brigitte would have been a great Pike, her Diablo Paladin outfit already ticks some similar boxes. As such, a different hero may work better; Mei could be a contender, with a Grog-themed Snowball thrown in for good measure.
What Overwatch Heroes Could Get Mighty Nein Skins?
- Kiriko (Jester)
- Junker Queen (Yasha)
- Vendetta (Beau)
- Junkrat (Nott)
- Hanzo (Caleb)
- Emre (Fjord)
- Wuyang (Caduceus)
- Genji (Mollymauk)
If a Critical Role campaign ever happens, and Vox Machina isn’t the target, then Meighty Nein surely will be (sorry, Fresh Cut Grass Bastion hopefuls). And if that happens, then there are some similarly great cosplay candidates. Much like with Mercy mains, Kiriko players are almost always looking forward to new skins in each and every Season, so it’s likely for a hypothetical Critical Role crossover to utilize her somehow. A Jester/Kiriko combo is perhaps the most surefire success, and the former’s hair and outfit would suit the latter very well. Jester’s beloved Fjord would be a match for the important newcomer Emre, as both are haunted by a dark force that can make them lose control of themselves.
There are a few options for Yasha, as players have basically already seen how a Yasha Zarya skin would look thanks to the Russian tank’s Barbarian outfit. So, to do something a bit different and represent Yasha’s signature weapon, Junker Queen could be the recipient of her outfit. Beau could go to fellow fight seeker Vendetta, Junkrat’s voice and vibe would suit Nott, and Hanzo’s journey for redemption would make Caleb fans feel right at home. Wuyang and fellow staff wielder Caduceus would pair nicely, while Genji as Mollymauk would be a dream come true; he could draw and fire cards instead of shuriken and Molly’s swords could be represented via the Dragonblade ultimate ability. With how rich the Overwatch and Critical Role universes are, bringing them together would be a match made in heaven, so hopefully this dream crossover comes true one day.
