Palworld has a laundry list of changes coming to the game with the launch of its Version 1.0 update, with 27 full pages’ worth of adjustments. The long-awaited full release of Palworld is scheduled to launch in early July.
The monster-catching survival game was one of the gaming world’s biggest breakout hits following its early-access launch in January 2024. Palworld quickly caught on with fans thanks to its wide roster of different Pals to collect, mixed with base-building, survival gameplay, and even shooter elements. Palworld naturally drew plenty of comparisons to the Pokemon franchise early in its life, with some fans accusing the game of plagiarism and Nintendo even taking legal action against the game’s developer, Pocketpair. Now, Palworld is finally gearing up for its full Version 1.0 release, with numerous changes on the way.
Palworld Issues Official Statement on 1.0 Save Wipe Concerns
Palworld developer Pocketpair addresses player concerns about the upcoming 1.0 release and what it means for their saves.
Palworld‘s Head of Publishing and Communications, Bucky, recently teased fans about the overwhelming quantity of changes coming to the game. The post revealed that the development team has a staggering 27 full pages of adjustments to fit into the patch notes for the release of Palworld‘s Version 1.0 update. Bucky even revealed that the Palworld update could exceed the 27 pages the developer already has, suggesting that any further additions to the patch notes for Version 1.0 would be “hard to make neat.” Palworld‘s Version 1.0 update is currently scheduled to be released on July 10.

Pocketpair has already teased plenty to excite fans about the launch of Palworld‘s Version 1.0 update. The patch will add multiple new Pals to the game’s roster, already officially revealing Dupin and showing off at least five other Pals set to join the game following its release. Version 1.0 will finally allow fans to visit the World Tree as Palworld‘s newest map expansion, which has loomed in the background of the game’s world since early in its life. Pocketpair has also confirmed that the Version 1.0 update will not wipe pre-existing Palworld saves, allowing players to continue exploring their older worlds after the game’s full release.
Palworld‘s early popularity has not come without its fair share of controversy, particularly from Nintendo and The Pokemon Company. Fans have accused Pocketpair of copyright infringement since the game’s initial release, citing many Pal designs that were too similar to pre-existing Pokemon and concerns around the Pal Sphere items. Nintendo even took legal action against Palworld in late 2024 for patent infringement, with Pocketpair quickly removing Pal Spheres from the game and later making changes to the game’s gliding mechanics.
Palworld‘s legal disputes with Nintendo did little to slow down the game’s monumental early growth. The game saw massive early sales numbers following its early-access debut, with Palworld selling 6 million copies across PC and Xbox consoles in less than a week. Even after Nintendo officially filed its lawsuit in September 2024, the game’s numbers continued to grow, with Palworld eclipsing 32 million players worldwide in early 2025 and collaborating with games like Terraria and Ultrakill. Palworld has become one of gaming’s biggest success stories in recent years, and the Version 1.0 update should look to add to that legacy even more.
