Persona 6 could very well be arriving in 2027, according to a recently teased leak. The news may come as a surprise to fans eagerly awaiting Persona 6, especially since Persona 4 Revival was recently revealed to have a release date set for 2027.
Persona 5 originally launched almost ten years ago, in September 2016, and fans have been waiting for a follow-up ever since. Fans of Persona 5 and some of the older games have had a lot to enjoy, with numerous Persona 5 spin-offs, as well as remasters and remakes of older games releasing during the decade since, but Persona 6 has largely been kept under wraps. Even though it’s now been officially revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase, players have still been left wondering when the game will actually come out.

The latest trailer for Persona 4 Revival basically confirms the game is already sidestepping Persona 3 Reload’s biggest controversy.
Persona 6 Release Window Leaks
The news comes by way of lolilolailo, a reputable Atlus leaker who previously confirmed that the Persona 6 trailer would appear during the Xbox Games Showcase. Now, the same leaker is saying that fans of the series shouldn’t read too much into the lack of an officially-stated release window for the new game, teasing that Persona 6 could very well launch in 2027. With Persona 4 Revival also having a 2027 release date, Atlus and Sega may be keeping Persona 6‘s release timing under wraps to give the remake its time in the spotlight. Prior leaks also indicated that Persona 6 would release in September 2027. If accurate, 2027 will be a big year for Persona fans.

Releasing the two Persona games in 2027 would make some sense. Persona 4 Revival will likely get long-time fans of the franchise excited to revisit the game all over again, but it will also introduce newcomers to the series. The Persona 6 hype will likely only grow larger, and given how long players have been waiting and how huge Persona 5 has been, it’s likely that Persona 6 will see a similar level of success. With the way that Japan’s fiscal year system works, Persona 6 and Persona 4 Revival could also boost Sega for two years, even if both games launch in 2027.
A number of Persona 6 leaks have made their way onto the internet, including some alleged concept art of some of the main characters. While these pieces of information haven’t been confirmed to be real by official sources, they seem very convincing. Sega reportedly issued DMCAs to have those leaks taken off the internet, perhaps indicating that they were legitimate. However, fans won’t know for sure until the game releases. After all, Persona 5 underwent a number of changes during its development, so the leaked images may not reveal anything about Persona 6‘s launch version.

Unfortunately, Atlus and Sega haven’t revealed much about Persona 6 just yet. Aside from a logo and a cryptic teaser, players haven’t been given a lot to go on. It may be difficult for the next game in the series to live up to the tremendous legacy of Persona 5, but hopefully, the long development time leads to an excellent experience.
