Pokemon GO Adding 3 More Gen 8 Pokemon in Upcoming Event for March 2026

Pokemon GO is adding three more Pokemon that premiered in the Gen 8 games, with Blipbug, Dottler, and Orbeetle joining the list. The update adding these three Pokemon will arrive in Pokemon GO in March, so players don’t have to wait too long to try and get them.

Pokemon GO regularly offers events and the addition of new Pokemon to keep the game interesting, and it’s already revealed some exciting additions arriving in March. Pokemon GO Super Mega Raids will kick off at the end of February and continue until March 1, and the next Pokemon GO Community Day will also arrive in March, and will feature Scorbunny.

Pokemon GO has announced another bug-themed celebration, which has been dubbed the Bug Out event. This event will kick off on March 17 at 10 am, and will end on March 23 at 8 pm local trainer time. As mentioned, Blipbug, Dottler, and Orbeetle, who all got their start in the Galar region, will finally arrive in Pokemon GO. Players will be able to use 25 Blipbug Candy to evolve Blipbug into Dottler, and 100 of the same candy to evolve Dottler into Orbeetle. Blipbug will be in the wild, so players have a chance of encountering and capturing one naturally. However, it will also be featured in One-Star Raids, and the Pokemon GO Pass will include an encounter with Blipbug.

As with most Pokemon GO events, there are a number of other encounters, fights, and goodies that players can expect from Bug Out. To start, Lure Modules will have a special chance of attracting certain types of bug Pokemon. From March 17 at 10 am to March 19 at the same time, Paras and Sizzlipede can appear when a Lure Module is used. From March 19 to March 21, Cutiefly and Sizzlipede get their chance, and Combee and Sizzlipede may appear from March 21 to March 23. Paras, Combee, and Cutiefly will have an increased chance of being Shiny when drawn in by standard Lure Modules. Meanwhile, players have an increased chance of encountering Caterpie, Dwebble, Sizzlipede, Nymble, and Scyther in the wild, which will all have a chance of being Shiny.

As usual, players will have Field Research Tasks attached to the event to complete, which will give players items and encounters with event Pokemon for completing them. Pinsir, Scizor, and Kleavor will appear in Three-Star Raids, with a chance of being Shiny. Those who use the standard GO Pass for Bug Out will be able to earn Stardust, XP, Lure Modules, Great Balls, and more, while those who get the GO Pass Deluxe will earn Premium Battle Passes, more Lure Modules, Rare Candy XL, and Candy XL. Picking up the Pokemon GO Pass Deluxe on the Web Store will also reward players with a bonus of 10 Ultra Balls, five Max Revives, one Premium Battle Pass, and five Max Potions. Those who pick up the GO Pass Deluxe Bug Out + 6 Ranks Ultra Box will also get 20 Ultra Balls, 10 Max Revives, 10 Max Potions, two Premium Battle Passes, an Incubator, and a Super Incubator as bonuses.

Given that this is the 30th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise as a whole and the 10th anniversary of Pokemon GO‘s release, there should be a lot of exciting things in store for fans over the course of the year. Pokemon trainers are already hyped with anticipation over the upcoming Pokemon Presents, which likely has a lot of exciting reveals to be shared. Even those who aren’t enthused about modern-day Pokemon or the games they’re in may be pleased to know that Pokemon FireRed and Pokemon LeafGreen will soon arrive on the Nintendo Switch family of consoles. There’s likely to be something for just about every Pokemon fan arriving this year.
