Pokemon GO Reveals May 2026 Community Day Pokemon

Pokemon GO Reveals May 2026 Community Day Pokemon

Following the end of April’s event, Niantic reveals details on what Pokemon GO players can capture when Community Day rolls around in May. With only a couple of weeks left in April, Niantic has begun to share some of the bigger limited-time events coming next month. For many players, Community Day is one of the bigger monthly events in Pokemon GO, highlighting one particular pocket monster with better-than-usual odds of potentially finding a shiny variant.

In fact, players have just experienced April’s Community Day event in Pokemon GO, which featured the steel-fairy type Tinkatink. Originally making its debut in the 9th generation series, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players who were able to evolve Tinkatink from Tinkatuff and then into Tinkaton during the event could unlock its featured charge attack, Gigaton Hammer. In addition to the featured Pokemon, Community Day typically features plenty of bonuses as well, such as double candy, triple Stardust from catches, and much more. For the next Community Day event, it seems fans won’t have to leave the Paldea region for the next featured Pokemon.

Pokemon GO Leak Teases New Auto-Catch In-Game Item

A recent Pokemon GO leak suggests that a new game-changing virtual item with features like auto-catching could be released soon.

  • Saturday, May 9 from 2-5pm local time.

In a new blog post, Pokemon GO revealed that Lechonk will be the featured creature during May’s COmmunity Day event. Nicknamed the Hog Pokemon, Lechonk made its debut in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, taking place within the Paldea region. The Normal-type can be found fairly early on in that game in a place called Poco Path, and it evolves fairly early on into Oinkologne at level 18. As a Normal-type, its a kind of jack of all trades, master of none-style Pokemon, with a weakness only to Fighting-types, while resisting Ghost moves. The male and female versions also each have their own style differences, with the blacker males having their ears cover their eyes, while the browner females having shorter ears and a different tail.

In terms of Pokemon GO, Lechonk’s Community Day will have some perks for players who are participating. During the event or up to 4 hours after it ends, players who evolve Lechonk into Oinkologne will learn the Mud Slap fast attack. The move has 11 power versus trainers, while it jumps to 19 when in raids and gym battles.

As expected, the May Community Day will also have numerous active bonuses as well. Players can use a regular Lure at any Pokestop to not only spawn more Lechonk, but increase the odds of a shiny or special background version to appear. During the event, players can also take advantage of a 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance, double candy for catching Pokemon, a 3 hour incense timer, and double the chance at finding Candy XL for players who are above level 31. For those who are looking for a little bit more, there will be special research available from Pokemon GO‘s in-game store.

While the event is still a few weeks away at this point, players still have plenty to look forward to throughout the rest of April. Later this month on April 28, Steeled Resolve sees the return of Meltan, as well as Orthworm making its debut into the game. Prior to that, the Replay: GO Bigger event arrives in Pokemon GO, allowing players to battle and capture Gigantamax versions of Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, and Gengar at Max Battle locations.
