Resident Evil 4 Remake: Where to Find All Hexagon Pieces

Resident Evil 4 Remake: Where to Find All Hexagon Pieces

In the Resident Evil 4 remake’s Lake area, there is an optional puzzle called the Stone Pedestal. It requires players to insert three pieces of hexagon-shaped key pieces to solve it. The hexagon pieces are titled A, B, and C, and can be found during Chapters Three and Four, where Leon gets to explore the Lake area.

The Stone Pedestal itself is located to the southwest of the Lake, where you can find an abandoned shack. But before activating the platform, you must first collect all three hexagon pieces. This Resident Evil 4 remake guide will walk you through the entire process.

Resident Evil 4 Remake: All Merchant Requests (& How to Complete Them)

Here’s the complete list of all 19 Merchant Requests in the Resident Evil 4 remake, with tips on fulfilling them.

Updated on June 21, 2026, by Mohsen Baqery: The infamous hexagon puzzle still haunts some Resident Evil 4 players to this day. This guide has been overhauled to put the most important information up front and help all players solve this optional puzzle as quickly as possible.

All Hexagon Locations in Resident Evil 4 Remake

Hexagon Piece A

Quarry (the Merchant Site)

Hexagon Piece B

Fish Farm (underneath the platform)

Hexagon Piece C

Small Cave Shrine (behind the locked door)

Before coming face-to-face with the Stone Pedestal, players are likely to obtain Hexagon Piece A first near the Merchant after the Quarry area. It can be found in a chest just opposite the purveyor of fine wares.

After further progress, Resident Evil 4 players must find fuel to use the boat around the lake, which will then bring players to the Fish Farm area. Defeat the enemies that appear in the area, including a Hammer Brute, and towards the north side, walk underneath the platform to find a chest containing Hexagon Piece B.

How to Get Hexagon Piece C

The final piece of the puzzle, Hexagon Piece C, will be found in the Small Cave Shrine area, which you will visit while trying to solve the Resident Evil 4 remake’s Lake puzzle. The area is found in the northeast corner of the Lake, with the chest holding Hexagon Piece C just to the right of the statue with the Blasphemer’s Head.

How to Solve the Hexagon Puzzle (Stone Pedestal)

Once you have all three pieces of Hexagon, you should ride the boat back to the Stone Pedestal area, which is the southwest part of the lake, near the abandoned shack. Here, you must insert all the pieces into the device and rotate them until the shapes align. If you don’t want to turn the Hexagon puzzle into a time-consuming, inscrutable part of the game, refrain from randomly turning the key pieces.

There are two different solutions for the Stone Pedestal puzzle, one for the Assisted and Standard mode, and another for the Hard and Professional difficulties. The fastest way of completing the puzzle on each difficulty is explained below.

Hexagon Puzzle Assisted and Standard Mode

  • Rotate the left hexagon group once
  • Rotate the top hexagon group once
  • This should unlock the locked door behind the Stone Pedestal

Hexagon Puzzle Hard and Professional Mode

  • Rotate the left hexagon group twice
  • Rotate the top hexagon group once
  • This will unlock the hidden door

The Reward for Solving the Stone Pedestal Hexagon Puzzle

Completing the Hexagon puzzle will reward you with the Depraved Idol treasure. According to the in-game description, it is “an eerie statue made of pure gold.” Unfortunately, the Depraved Idol is not one of the Resident Evil 4 remake’s upgradable treasures, so you cannot adorn it with gemstones. That said, you can sell it to the Merchant for 15,000 Pesetas, which is not a bad price.
