Pokopia: How to Get 50 Units of Electricity in Withered Wasteland

Pokopia: How to Get 50 Units of Electricity in Withered Wasteland

One of the more confusing progression gates in Pokemon Pokopia comes during the Withered Wasteland segment, where players are tasked with generating 50 units of electricity. This objective is tied to a major quest, often associated with restoring key structures like the Lighthouse, and it can feel unclear if you haven’t unlocked the right tools or systems yet. Fortunately, once players understand how power generation works, reaching 50 electricity is straightforward. Pokopia players can use Windmills, Water Wheels, and more to increase the electricity in the Withered Wastelands.

All Main Story Missions in Pokemon Pokopia (Requests List)

Pokemon Pokopia’s main story is made up of ten important requests. Here’s where you can find every mission and how to complete the final one.

How to Unlock Electricity in Pokopia

Before you can even attempt to generate electricity at scale, you’ll need to progress beyond the early stages of the Withered Wasteland. Specifically, players must unlock features tied to Bleak Beach, which introduces key building options like Utility Poles and power-generating structures. Completing the Wake Mosslax Up Important Request gives players access to all of these features.

Utility Poles are essential because they allow electricity to travel between structures. Without them, even if you build generators, the power won’t connect or count toward your total. At the same time, unlocking build kits—especially the Windmill Kit—gives you access to reliable electricity sources.

The Best Method to get Electricity Units in Pokopia: Build Windmills

Pokopia Withered Wastelands Windmill

The easiest and most consistent way to reach 50 units of electricity is by using Windmills. Compared to other power sources, Windmills are:

  • Cheaper to build
  • Easier to place
  • More flexible in layout

Players will need around five Windmills to comfortably reach the 50 units of electricity requirement. Each Windmill contributes a portion of electricity, and when combined, they quickly stack up to your goal.

How to Set Up Windmills Properly

Simply placing Windmills isn’t enough, players will need to connect them. Here’s the correct setup:

  • Place 4–5 Windmills in a relatively close area
  • Use Utility Poles to connect each Windmill
  • Ensure all structures are linked in one continuous network

When properly connected, the electricity from each Windmill combines into a shared grid. If even one structure is disconnected, it may not count toward your total. A common mistake is spacing Windmills too far apart or forgetting to connect them entirely. If your electricity total seems stuck, double-check your connections.

Players can purchase more Wind Mill Kits from the Pokeshop.

Alternative Method: Water Wheels

While Windmills are the easiest solution, Water Wheels are another viable option. The Withered Wasteland contains limited water sources that can be used to generate electricity via water flow. There is already a Water Wheel in the Withered Wasteland that players can restore.

What you need to do to access the fourth, and last, main area of Pokopia.

However, this method is less beginner-friendly as it requires proper water flow setup and is more dependent on terrain. Water Wheels can still be useful if you want to diversify your setup or already have one built, but for most players, Windmills remain the fastest route.

Combining Power Sources for Efficiency

Combining multiple sources can make reaching 50 units of electricity even easier. Windmills, Water Wheels, and Furnaces combined maximize the output. This hybrid approach is especially helpful if you’re low on resources or struggling with placement.

Certain pre-existing structures or build spots can help you hit the requirement faster if used correctly, especially when combined with Utility Poles to unify the grid. Players can manipulate the terrain with moves like Suck or Rock Smash to suit their needs.

Why Your Electricity Might Not Be Counting

Pokopia Utility Pole

If you’ve built enough generators but still aren’t hitting 50 electricity, the issue usually comes down to one of these problems:

  • Disconnected grid – Your structures aren’t linked via Utility Poles
  • Wrong placement – Some quest areas require specific connection points
  • Insufficient unlocks – You may not have access to the best generators yet

The system doesn’t just check how many generators you’ve built but how much electricity is actively flowing through a connected network. Once everything is properly connected, your electricity total should update immediately, allowing you to progress in the quest.

While the 50 electricity requirement in Pokemon Pokopia can initially feel unclear, it ultimately comes down to understanding the game’s power grid system. By unlocking the right tools, focusing on Windmills, and ensuring everything is connected with Utility Poles, players can complete this objective quickly and move forward in restoring the Withered Wasteland. Once mastered, this system becomes a core part of the game’s building mechanics and opens the door to more advanced structures and creative designs later on.
