Preorders Are Live For The Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition Code-In-A-Box Physical Switch 2 Release

During the latest Nintendo Direct, Bethesda took to the stage to reveal a slew of games heading to Switch 2–including Fallout 4. The Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition is getting a digital release on February 24, followed by a physical release on April 28. There don’t seem to be any preorder bonuses yet, but the Anniversary Edition is packed with additional content (like DLC and Creation Club items), giving Switch 2 fans a chance to experience the best of the Wasteland.

Considering season two of the Fallout TV show just wrapped up, this is a wonderful time to dive back in for another post-apocalyptic adventure. Our Fallout 4 review gave the original game from 2015 a fantastic 9/10, noting its dense world filled with unique characters and locations, its fun combat system, and its massive selection of quests and side quests.

“Fallout 4 can be an intoxicating experience,” wrote critic Peter Brown. “You’re often forced to sacrifice something–a relationship, a lucrative opportunity, or your health–to make gains elsewhere. And the deeper down the rabbit hole you go, the more you wonder: what if I chose a different path? You second-guess yourself, not just because you had other options, but because you aren’t sure you did the right thing… Fallout 4 is an argument for substance over style, and an excellent addition to the revered open-world series.”

This wasn’t the only game Bethesda will be bringing to Switch 2. The latest Direct also revealed that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered will be arriving on Switch 2 for the first time later this year, while the previously released The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition is getting a physical Switch 2 version on April 28. Both Skyrim and Oblivion Remastered’s Switch 2 versions are following Fallout 4’s lead and are launching as code-in-a-box releases, but Indiana Jones will offer the full game data on the cartridge, making it one of the few third-party Switch 2 physical releases to do so.
