Pokemon Pokopia’s Next Big Event is Set for April 29

Pokemon Pokopia’s Next Big Event is Set for April 29

Pokemon Pokopia players should mark their calendars for April 29, as that’s when the game’s next big event will officially kick off. Pokemon Pokopia launched with a ton of content for players to enjoy, with multiple islands to explore and hundreds of Pokemon to interact with.

Pokemon Pokopia has a lot in common with Nintendo’s Animal Crossing franchise. This includes limited-time events that run occasionally, with Pokopia players having already been treated to two such events at the time of this writing. The first Pokopia event tasked players with collecting cotton spores from Dream Islands to purchase items from Hoppip that could in turn be used to build habitats to attract Hoppip’s evolutions. The second event was Pokopia‘s April Fools’ Day celebration, which had players answering trivia questions in exchange for an inflatable Sudowoodo decoration.

When is the Pokopia Sableye Event

Anyone wondering what the next Pokopia event has in store need only turn their attention to April 29. On that day, Pokopia‘s Sableye event will kick off. As long as players have rebuilt at least one Pokemon Center, they will be able to chat with Dark/Ghost-type Pokemon Sableye to start the event proper. Like the previous events, Pokopia‘s Sableye event will only be available for a limited time, so anyone interested will want to make sure they participate before the event ends on May 13.

After talking to Sableye, Pokopia players will be able to visit Dream Islands to collect red gems, which in turn can be used to purchase event-exclusive items. These items can then be used to build a Sableye habitat. Once the event is over and Sableye is no longer busy selling items at the Pokemon Center, players can lead it to its new habitat and ensure it has a solid comfort level.

While most Pokopia players won’t have access to the Sableye event until April 29, those willing to cheat can technically start it right now, which is how we already know what it’s all about. By changing the day and time on your Switch 2 console, you can effectively time travel in Pokemon Pokopia. This way, you can fast-forward to future events and relive past ones. There are potential issues that could come from playing the game this way, but it is still an option for those willing to fiddle with their Switch 2 settings.

Limited-time events in Pokopia are a great way to ensure that players are sticking with the game for the long haul, but one has to wonder if more substantial expansions are being considered. Pokopia has proven to be a massive sales success, and so there’s clearly potential for DLC. There are only a few hundred of the 1,000+ Pokemon in Pokopia, and so there’s a ton of room for the game to grow over time. Time will tell if Pokopia ever gets any proper expansions, but in the meantime, fans of the game can continue to enjoy the base game content as well as the limited-time events as they come to pass.
