The upcoming crime sim is easily one of the most anticipated games of 2026, and after multiple delays, gamers are itching to get their hands on it. While the wait for Grand Theft Auto 6 is slowly coming to a close, there are still several months left to go, although not everyone will have to wait that long.

Rockstar has been relatively quiet about the game considering all the hype behind it, having only released two trailers and occasionally stepping in to confirm or deny rumors about it. As spotted by GTA Boom, Rockstar has posted several job listings for Associate QA Testers at its Bangalore, India, office. The descriptions do not mention GTA 6, but that’s typical of these kinds of listings, and the timing would make sense. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has reaffirmed that GTA 6 will meet its November 19 release date, leaving just over seven months to make sure the game is in an acceptable state before releasing it into the world. Given that timeline, it’s likely that much of the work on GTA 6 is already over, and there are just final touches and debugging left to go, which is where the QA testers would come in.

GTA Boom also points out that Rockstar India similarly ramped up QA tester hiring right before the first GTA 6 release date delay announcement in the Spring of 2025. It’s possible that the QA testers hired then contributed to the company realizing a delay was necessary as they played the game and encountered issues. If so, then this more recent round of hiring could very well be a repeat of that cycle, having more people test the title to make sure it’s ready for launch. Of course, there’s always a chance that Rockstar India is looking to test games other than GTA 6, but the timing is hard to ignore.

It should not come as a surprise that Rockstar is investing in more quality assurance ahead of GTA 6‘s launch. An earlier analysis estimated that GTA 6‘s delay could cost $350 million in extra QA and marketing expenses alone, before factoring in missed sales opportunities. As the long-awaited follow-up to the most profitable entertainment product ever made, GTA 6 also has a lot to live up to, so it’s only natural that Rockstar would want to thoroughly test the game to ensure it’ll live up to expectations.

While fans across the internet have latched onto the possibility of getting paid to play GTA 6 early, it’s not a simple hack. Like any job, not everyone who applies will get the job, and it is an in-office position, so it will require a commute to Bangalore. After Rockstar landed in hot water over GTA 6 developer firings late last year, some fans may have reservations, too, though, by and large, the community seems more excited about the prospect than weary of it.
