Steam has become one of the easiest places to build up a game library without spending much money, especially when limited-time promotions hand out games that would normally cost something, and now another one is slated for October 14. While Steam’s biggest free game opportunities can sometimes get buried among sales, demos, and temporary free-to-play events, smaller giveaways can be worth watching for if the timing is right. One such promotion is coming in October, and it will give Steam users a chance to claim a multiplayer game without paying for it.
The giveaway is being organized through Legion Gaming Community’s Game Key Drops, which periodically distributes Steam games through limited-time events. Unlike a normal Steam promotion where a game can simply be claimed whenever it is available, these drops can require players to be ready when the event begins.
Steam Users Can Grab Buissons At No Cost
The game being given away is Buissons, a 2021 multiplayer hide-and-seek game that puts players in control of bushes instead of the usual cast of human characters. Buissons supports up to four players, with the goal centered around moving under the cover of night, observing opponents during the day, and using the surrounding environment to set traps. The deliberately ridiculous premise is backed by mechanics that make players watch each other closely, with randomly generated forests and different ecosystems adding some variety to each match. To claim, would-be players need a Legion Gaming Community account, an unlimited Steam account, and a Twitch account. It is recommended to bookmark the claim page above in order to get on the free promotion.

Steam users also have plenty of reason to give Buissons a look beyond the fact that it will be free. The game currently holds a 96% positive rating from 114 Steam user reviews, giving it a Very Positive overall reception. Players frequently praise Buissons for its simple controls, quick matches, humorous presentation, and ability to work well as a local multiplayer game on Steam. Steam Remote Play Together also allows players to use the game online with friends, while the Steam page lists support for up to four players.
After claiming a code from the Legion Gaming Community event, players will have to complete Steam and Twitch verification through Gleam before linking their Legion Gaming Community account. After completing the required steps, a key voucher should appear that can be redeemed through Gamesplanet for a Steam key. Lenovo recommends enabling cookies and signing into Gamesplanet ahead of time to make the process go more smoothly. Overall, while it’s a few extra steps compared to Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotions, it’s well worth it for a free October 2026 PC game.
Of course, it’s not the only free game for Steam users in October 2026 either. Not only is the Legion Gaming Community also giving away a Steam copy of Doom 2016 for free on October 28, but Valve itself has also confirmed Steam games like Pony Island and Fireside Feelings for special free October 2026 promotions.
