Steam Users Have Until April 13 to Claim Stardew Valley-Like Game at Absolutely No Cost

Steam Users Have Until April 13 to Claim Stardew Valley-Like Game at Absolutely No Cost

If Stardew Valley‘s player character inherited a graveyard from their grandfather instead of a rundown farm, then that game would be Graveyard Keeper. Graveyard Keeper typically costs $19.99 on Steam, but for a limited time, users will be able to claim it, download it, and keep it forever as part of Steam’s Free to Keep promotion.

Steam’s Free to Keep Promotion often gives away a game or two per week, but it’s not the only way to claim free Steam games. Lenovo Gaming sometimes does free Steam Key Giveaways, with a Heavy Rain Steam Key giveaway taking place on April 15. Meanwhile, sci-fi co-op platformer game eWorlds is transitioning to a premium game model on April 16, meaning folks and their friends can claim the game for free until then (and keep it thereafter). Graveyard Keeper stands alongside them as a dark, cozy game, available for free until 12 pm CT on April 13.

Steam Extraction Game Came Out Last Month and is Already Shutting Down

While the extraction genre has surged in recent months, one game that released in March 2026 is unfortunately already shutting down.

Graveyard Keeper is Free on Steam Right Now

In Graveyard Keeper, players will be tasked with building and managing a graveyard. Graveyard Keeper’s visuals are on par with Stardew Valley, although with a distinct overall art style, and players will note other similarities during their time with the game. Players are tasked with clearing land, for one, but also accumulating wealth, improving their graveyard (as opposed to their farm), and so on. One little twist that separates the game a bit from a standard farming simulator like Stardew Valley is that players are encouraged to find shortcuts to cut costs in the graveyard, using all the resources at their disposal. That’s not to say there’s no trace of that beloved farming sim gameplay, however.

Progression in Graveyard Keeper is more tied to technology trees and resource acquisition, where they must gather materials, craft items, and optimize everything. In that way, veteran farming sim players are likely familiar with the core gameplay loop. Beyond the graveyard, players can farm, fish, explore dungeons (not unlike the Mines in Stardew Valley), experiment with alchemy, and complete quests. Graveyard Keeper purposefully leans into dark humor and moral ambiguity, such as repurposing corpses, and combined with its offbeat story focus, the title offers a darker, more complex take on the cozy life simulation formula.

Epic Games Store Also Has a Couple of Free PC Games

No single video game appeals to everyone. Perhaps Graveyard Keeper does, or perhaps it doesn’t. Perhaps Heavy Rain or eWorlds is more your speed, or perhaps it isn’t. However you feel about those free games, it’s worth highlighting that there are two free games on Epic Games Store right now too.

Prop Sumo is a chaotic party brawler with physics-driven matches, utilizing melee attacks, items, and environmental hazards across various arenas. On the other end of the spectrum is TOMAK: Save the Earth Regeneration, a life sim/visual novel hybrid. In it, players nurture a weakened goddess to prove humanity’s worth through conversation, decision-making, and stat management. And until April 16 at 10 am CT, these two games can be claimed for free as well.
