Steam Users Have Until May 25 to Claim New Freebie

Steam Users Have Until May 25 to Claim New Freebie

While Steam‘s Free-to-Keep Promotion typically offers paid, premium games for free for a limited time, the latest offering is actually a freebie for an otherwise cheap PC game. Until May 25, Steam users can claim the original soundtrack for AquaDream completely free of charge, and if they are fans, they can also pick up the game at a discounted price until then.

That’s not to say there aren’t any free game offerings on Steam right now, though. Until May 30, Steam users can claim the endless running game Dino running from a Furry, which is what it is. Lenovo is also hosting a Steam Key giveaway for Heavy Rain on May 27, although that is for a much shorter time. Either way, there are free game offerings right now, and music fans may find a new favorite game through its soundtrack because of the Free-to-Keep Promotion.

Brand New PS5 Update Adding Feature That Steam Users Have Had for Years

Sony appears to be launching an update for the PS5 that includes a new feature that Steam users have been using for a long time.

The AquaDream Soundtrack, composed by Joshua Liljeblad, includes all five songs from the titular game: Deep Ocean, River Reef Shark, The Hidden Temple, Sunny Shores, and The Choral Reef. In addition to that, there is an additional reverb version of each song. Typically, it costs just $1, but this soundtrack can be claimed completely free of charge until May 25 at 12 pm CT on Steam, at which time it will exit the promotion.

The game is not required to enjoy the soundtrack, but it is treated as additional content for AquaDream (because it is) all the same. If someone does enjoy the soundtrack, then AquaDream is available at a 77% discount until May 25 at some time. It’s already a cheap PC game, but this is a chance to get it for next to nothing. In it, players explore the dark marine abyss as an Anglerfish and solve puzzles in an otherwise atmosphere-focused experience.

As players explore the abyss, they’ll find hidden keys, open new passages via undersea towers, and follow ocean currents through deadly traps. There’s also a collect-a-thon element where players are encouraged to find a variety of each shell. Overall, it’s a pretty simple puzzle game, but it’s about the vibe, and in that regard, it’s a solid experience. It typically costs $5, but with the aforementioned discount, it’s barely a little over a dollar. If the soundtrack captures fans, then that’s an easy conversion from soundtrack to game.

Overall, it’s not the biggest free PC game given away on Steam, but it’s also not the worst. Free’s free and a vibe’s a vibe, so hopefully this OST and game attract some players.
