The Legend of Zelda: Quartet of Time Officially Revealed

The Legend of Zelda: Quartet of Time Officially Revealed

A brand-new Legend of Zelda project based on Ocarina of Time has officially been announced. The Legend of Zelda: Quartet of Time is a full-length album of music inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and is coming as part of the ZREO: Second Quest project. The album will feature music originally scored by The Legend of Zelda series composer Koji Kondo and arranged for a string quartet.

The Legend of Zelda series is famous for its music, both in terms of the soundtracks to the games and the use of music within each game. From Link’s use of the ocarina in games like Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask, to the presence of Kass, the traveling minstrel in Breath of the Wild, almost every Zelda game features music in its narrative in some way. As a result, the Zelda series has become home to some of the most iconic tracks in gaming, which have been celebrated by fans with projects like Quartet of Time throughout the years.

Ocarina of Time Remake’s Rumored Release Date Suggests It’s Totally Unbothered by GTA 6

Ocarina of Time’s rumored Switch 2 release date suggests Nintendo isn’t remotely worried about being overshadowed by GTA 6.

The Legend of Zelda: Quartet of Time Announced as New Fan-Made Album

Quartet of Time is being produced by ZREO: Second Quest, the successor to the Zelda Reorchestrated project that previously created a variety of albums based on The Legend of Zelda series, such as Concerning Clock Town based on the music of Majora’s Mask, and Twilight Symphony based on the music of Twilight Princess. Now, ZREO is back, collaborating with string quartet ATLYS, who will be performing the arrangements on this album, to deliver Ocarina of Time fans a new musical selection based on the iconic songs of the classic N64 game.

As recordings for the tracks are finished, they will be released individually for streaming, with a full physical album release to follow. Fans interested in hearing the songs from Quartet of Time can follow ZREO on streaming sites like Bandcamp, Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music. Specific release dates for these tracks have not been shared yet, so interested fans will want to keep an eye on these sites for updates.

A major driving force behind this project is the upcoming official remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time that was announced by Nintendo back in the June 2026 Nintendo Direct. While details on this remake are sparse at the moment, it has been confirmed for a 2026 release date, so fans can expect Nintendo to share more information in the coming months. However, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake has been confirmed as a Switch 2 exclusive.

Iconic songs like “Hyrule Field,” “Zelda’s Lullaby,” and the “Song of Time” are all crucial parts of Ocarina of Time‘s worldbuilding. The exact track list for Quartet of Time has not been confirmed, but fans can likely expect to hear the most popular songs from Ocarina of Time among those arranged for the project. Between the official Ocarina of Time remake and this fan project, Zelda fans have a lot to look forward to in the latter half of 2026.
