This Diablo 4 Season 12 Unique Puts the ‘Slaughter’ in the Season of Slaughter

This Diablo 4 Season 12 Unique Puts the ‘Slaughter’ in the Season of Slaughter

With Diablo 4 Season 12 about to hit Sanctuary, players should already be preparing their builds for the Season of Slaughter. Coming in the new season of Diablo 4 is the Killstreak mechanic, which makes its return from Diablo 3, along with the ability to transform into the franchise’s iconic Butcher boss. However, one of the most seasonally appropriate features in the Season of Slaughter comes from one of the new Unique that players will want to farm for when Diablo 4 Season 12 drops.

Killstreaks are going to be the focus of Diablo 4 Season 12, and players are going to want to orient their builds around efficiently and effortlessly killing as many enemies as possible in the shortest time possible. Killstreaks will work in tandem with new Bloodied items to give Diablo 4 players powerful affixes that are triggered by reaching certain Killstreak tiers or reaching a certain kill count. To this end, one new Diablo 4 Season 12 Unique has fantastic synergy with this playstyle, making it an easy Unique to slot into most Diablo 4 builds.

As a Necromancer Fan, Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred’s Warlock Might Be My New Favorite Class [Hands-On Preview]

GameRant went hands-on with Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred’s Warlock class for a preview of what to expect from the upcoming expansion.

Diablo 4 Season 12’s New Wendigo Brand Unique is Ideal for The Season of Slaughter

The new Uniques for Diablo 4 Season 12 are breaking tradition for the game, moving away from adding one new Unique for each class and instead focusing on Uniques that are usable by multiple classes. Of these five Uniques, three can be used by all classes, including the Blood-Mad Idol, the Wendigo Brand, and Wyrdskin Unique Gloves. Meanwhile, the Thousand-Eye Reaver and Rustbitten Dirk are usable by multiple classes, not every Diablo 4 class. However, it’s the Wendigo Brand that seems like a must-use Unique for builds in Diablo 4 Season 12, as it encourages players to participate in the seasonal Killstreak mechanic.

Wendigo Brand Rewards Diablo 4 Players for Killing Enemies Quickly

  • Wendigo Brand—Unique Ring

    • Affixes:

      • 441-490 Physical Resistance
    • Power:

      • Every 15 kills in the last 30-60 seconds increases your damage dealt by 2%, and Maximum Health by 1%.

The Wendigo Brand is all about keeping the player alive during the onslaught of monsters that Sanctuary throws at them. While its affixes are geared toward boosting Life, Life Regen, Life on Hit, and Physical Resistance, the Wendigo Brand’s Unique power is what makes it clearly designed for the Season of Slaughter.

For every 15 kills the player gets in the last 30-60 seconds, their damage is increased by 2%, and their Max Health is increased by 1%. This means that players who have builds oriented around speed farming the demons of Sanctuary could potentially scale their damage output and health pool to ridiculous levels. Combine this power with a Bloodied version of the Wendigo Brand, and Diablo 4 Season 12 players can potentially receive massive buffs for killing enemies quickly throughout the seasonal activities on offer.

Diablo 4 Season 12’s Killstreaks Offer the Perfect Synergy with the Wendigo Brand

The name of the game in Diablo 4 Season 12 is speed and efficiency when it comes to monster slaying. Since Killstreaks and Bloodied items already reward players for mowing down enemies as fast as possible, having a Unique equipped that benefits from an activity the player is already doing seems like a no-brainer. A 2% damage increase and 1% health increase may not sound like much, but as players optimize their builds for monster-dense areas like Helltides or Infernal Hordes, that percentage can quickly add up as 15 kills go by in the blink of an eye. The Wendigo Brand has the potential to quickly snowball a build designed for maintaining Killstreaks since the two share a similar playstyle.
